So can this not be played alone?

Recommended Posts

When in Cherno/Elektro keep on the move. If you alert zombies, run through a building to lose them. If you move too slowly and sit still for too long, you present a beautiful target. Learn to keep on the move, to move safely with zombies after you and to pick up gear quickly. Sit still in cover, watch your back, don't run in long straight lines, even zombies know that. :)

To the OP:

It is possible to play alone, but better with a friend.

That means some logistical coordination in terms of when you can both get on the game. My buddy broke his leg near Pusta. I gave him some stuff that I didn't want to lose, such as matches and knife, rations, and my AK.

Then I ran into Elektro for meds and stuff to help him out. I have a ghillie suit, which helps immensely, but when you bump into someone, they are either threatened by it, or just want to have it, so you have to keep that in mind too.

There were a few things I wanted to investigate, such as a chopper that was in the street - I assume someone flew it there - but I kept my eyes on the prize and ran my errands and got back to Pusta.

My point is, the game has a lot of grind to it. Much housekeeping to do. I try to do that stuff when I can, and go exploring with a friend to watch each others' backs

PM me if you need someone to watch your flank.

Here is my experience and what has seemed to work pretty well for me.

First login:

I ran into the one of the big towns (first login had no idea where I was) I ran around town like a child who was just given the keys to Toys R Us and was told anything you can carry out is free. I stumbled across a large backpack and started filling it with pasta and soda when out of no where I see someone else run into the building with me. Another survivor human contact in the excitement I say Hey I'm friendly how's it going? I guess I startled the person because they took out an axe and ran to me! Fearing for my life I took aim and unloaded the clip and from what I could tell he stopped the bullets with his face. I check his body and find a map and some supplies and take off to continue my shopping spree.

I find a military building and a camp outfit and an Akm I think I am the luckiest person in the world and decide to climb on the rooftop and shout it out!( not really but I thought there might be more goodies) as I get on the roof I see a dead body as I go to check the body and hear gunshots and next thing I know my first hour came to an end.

What I usually do is when I first start off is take a run through the town get some basics and take off up north for smaller towns.

Playing alone is fine. You've just experienced what most new players do at first. You will learn. I think I would have quit already if I played mostly in a group as there is no risk involved whatsoever. Playing solo keeps you on your toes.

I am playing alone and I'm alive for about 2 weeks now.

If you want to live long as a lone wolf, you have to:

Avoid bigger cities

Avoid shooting

Avoid players

Get some water canteens, axe, hunting knife and matches -> no need for looting

Try to move through forests as much as posible

Get a paranoia

....

Some might ask "and wheres the fun?", I'll say "I dont know anymore"

I play this game for a couple of days now. Always a loner. After taking a bullet to my head from some random sniper, I've learned to avoid others, watch my sorrundings carefully. The game is much more challenging if you know there might be someone looking for you and your stuff.
