What to do on skalisty island?

So, I found a speed boat which was awesome and used it to get over to this island that I had never seen before, turns out it's called skalisty island and I was just wondering if there's anything of value that I should look for there before leaving. Thanks :)

Skalisty island is a great place, if you wanna chill out, collect some meat, refill water bottles......and hope there is a chopper.

I had a camp there until 1.7.2.4 when a admin came over to investigate if the choppa was there....Paradise was lost :/

There's not alot over there, however the island offers a small illusion of safety. The safety isn't real, but the feeling of freedom when you speed on the water is. The island isn't the real treasure, the boat is.

I hear Skalisty Island is haunted by a super zombie at nights... It punches you to death with one hit, and makes a distinct gargling sound. It runs slower and looks like a zombie stuffed full with beans.

I don't know what it drops though. Should probably be something nice?

The Island was our first camp location, the camp is still there (was set up like 2 months ago lol)

As said it is a really nice place to just hang out in a feeling of relative safety...

The tents have proven useful for storing the parts needed to repair the helicopter until we had enough to start roaming the airs :D

Where does the boat spawn exactly? close to the shore or inside that hut? I've been checking some servers with no luck.

The only boat worth having is the PBX which spawns far up North East of the map in that inlet, the others are so slow it's quicker to walk.

Oh well, the thing is that i'm stuck at that island with very good gear (nvg, coyote bp, etc) and i can't get the hell out of it. Any ideas of how to leave the island for once? Also i've tried finding a chopper but everytime i find it it has all its parts in red and i don't have the parts to repair it.

You can always swim? Losing gear in water is a server side setting but from experience most servers have it disabled, go in the water near the shore and test it, if you start losing items you can always pick them back up again.

How does "losing items" work? I go and swim and how to check if i lost any item? Also, once i've lost an item, how to pick it up again?

I think I found your camp then. Right next to the house I found a tent with loads of chopper engine and other vehicle parts. No chopper tho.

If you haven't got a friend to locate a boat and come to pick you up. You're up duff creek, you will lose your pack from the swim and what was inside it. I'm not 100% sure if you lose inventory. Not to mention by the time you've made it to mainland you will be temp flashing and within a few minutes probably infected and sneezing.

I swam there to go "Lord of the Flies" but nothing had spawned in any of the buildings and I died of dehydration next to the water pump.
