Problem is we were having to work out his location and aim for someone prone that we couldnt see, he could see us and take us out in his own time...next time if we have 2-3 on overwatch with thermal and range finders.... then smoke grenade near the truck ( wuold need to test with thermal vision ) and maybe two at the truck firing prone towards him and then overwatch positioning him and either going for the kill or slowly moving around hiding behind trees.. take our time... We just got caught out and hadnt thought out what to do..

He wasn't prone and was moving around in the tree line, we on the other hand stood in the open field like sitting ducks. End of story really lol

39 here from the UK, I've posted about wanting to find players to team up with me, have my own teamspeak server and am toying with the idea of buying my own DayZ server should I get enough people joining me, all that said I am quite willing to join up with some like minded players for raids etc when they need more bodies so please add me to the list (if there is one)

I wish I had the presence of mind to take a screenshot of us all in that truck. That was just so utterly cool...till the killing started. I didn't have thermal but I was scanning that tree line above us before the shooting started and never saw anyone moving other than that boar. I got myself all the way back to the truck thinking I'd try to lay down cover fire and started peeking out to scan and he injured me. I hate that you have to expose yourself to bandage, cause that's when he shot me dead. A word to the wise, when your significant other tells you it's time to log off for dinner, just do it. You may log back in to save the day for everyone. Thank you Tater and the dear woman who makes sure he has a full belly!

I don't pretend to have any knowledge of things tactical, but I'm willing to learn. Especially if we're going to be rolling in fairly large groups.

Well, hacker/stalkers. I think the unarmed bandit guy was trying to do penance for a life of crime maybe. My guys heart was thumping at like 300 beats a minute. This dude must have been murdering on the level of Pol Pot. I tried to shoot him. He was impervious and as I tried to get away he kept getting in front of me. He dropped blood, one cooked meat, and then another. He told me to have a nice day over text then he's gone. I get to the grocery in Zelenogorsk to a couple of our guys fighting the hordes and he shows up again with a bike. At that point I'd had enough and split the scene. Apparently, I'm poorly equipped to handle the bizarre.

On another server I'd just finished raiding some tents on the outskirts of the map and as I'm running away I start hearing female breath in my right ear. And no, before the jokes start, as a heterosexual woman, this did not turn me on but scared the piss outta me! Guy in a female skin was running with me and asking me repeatedly to let him give me a ghillie suit. I repeatedly declined his seemingly kind, but creepy, offer and eventually he went away. Poor thing, probably just wanted to be friends, bless him. I couldn't bring myself to shoot him since he wasn't armed and had no bandit skin. Oh well, my Carebear forum picture pretty much sums me up! :rolleyes:

There's a problem. I opened an account with some to do list software called scribbles and it won't let me back in to edit the list. Says I don't have an account. So that's that. I cannot face retyping the list and can't edit it. I might feel more willing to do it when I feel better but right now if anyone wants to take on the task help yourself. Found it pretty unreal sat in the back of the truck with another 8 guy's, kind of epic, like an old foegey's road trip lol. :P :D

I thought we had a couple of guy's with thermal, did no one spot him? I know a few of us shot at him when we saw the muzzle flash, I was behind a wall with Azrael, couldn't take a shot without having my head taken off though, not that it made any difference lol, should have just rushed him guns blazing, was enough of us to take him out with the possibility of only losing a few.

I finally logged out early this morning after losing control of my character, couldn't look down my scope, then I got up and started marching on the spot, these hackers are just dumb! How did the rest of you get on in the town?

I had a thermal gun and saw nothing except for the pig, I was sweeping all the trees lines and got nothing.Everytime i got a muzzle flash I would re-aim and still saw nothing...as Isay if he was laying in wait for anyone and he got us fair and square then fair play, he did really well. However he was only other player on with us and was laying in the spot we stopped at in the whole map, then shot us all and he got me whilst i was running and zagging at a distance which is hard.... and couldnt spot him on thermal and he waited till we went back to the truck when we were all standing around alot before then... hacker.. maybe ....

I'd be interested in meeting up some time. I'm in my 40s so probably the oldest old fogey in the forums. I'd like to meet up with people who have an objective, even if it's just try to meet up and get to X or Y. :thumbsup:

I'd never used Teamspeak before but it works out pretty well. They use channel idoru.ch (a public channel, I think). Considering the Fogeyz was essentially your brainchild it would be great to get to play with you. I haven't had this much fun in DayZ in a long time. Hope you get to feeling better real soon!

Yeah I thought it was a script kiddie, I could see him in the tree line while I was in third person, I asked in TS if anyone could see him on thermal and someone said no, he was using a hack without a doubt.

This evening was a farce of such magnititude I am buzzing with bewilderment. Not only have I lost everything from NVGs to my lovely coyote backpack, but hackers tried to confuse me to death!

I'm used to dying and losing it all but it still hurts briefly before you pick yourself up and start over. But tonight was like no other I have lived through.

I have learned some valuable lessons about life and about myself.

For example, I have learned that when attacked by zombies, if you find you have a tendancy to turn into the filthiest mouthed, raging, ranting, screaming lunatic, it's best to keep in mind that those you're sharing a teamspeak conversation with will be suffering your potty-mouthed abuse along with the zombies it's aimed at.

I have learned too that when standing next to a truck and ask your colleague "who's that standing with you by the truck?", and every other person in teamspeak shouts "shoot him!", it is perhaps a little aggressive to scream back, "Don't you effing dare shoot me! That's ME, man! I meant the guy in the ghillie suit, not me!"

Oh and I learned too that Azrael is one of the loveliest, most kind and helpful of players, as is her hubby. :thumbsup:

Thank you for the kind words, Sula. I've never played in a group before this and I've developed a lone-wolf style of playing that doesn't always work well with other players. Not to mention I'm tactically challenged, and navigationally challenged.

TrpleB and I were just now running together and he told me to 'cover him' while he was getting water. I'm honestly not sure what that means. Then I almost shot him in the buttocks because I forgot to turn off my trackpad and my palm hit the left button. Talk about a 'facepalm' moment. It's one thing to hatchet my husband to death whilst trying to bloodbag but it's another thing entirely to almost kill a nice stranger who is trusting you to help him survive.

I'm not giving up yet, though. I've learned that I have a lot to learn. If any of our ragtag group of mature ones reads this, please be patient with me!
