Every time someone brings up the subject of hacking, some coolboi chimes in something along the lines of "yeah, duh, we got enuff threads on dis" or "I haven't seen any hackers and I've been playing 2 months".

This is the ONLY issue that should be talked about right now, not green mountain, not zombie pathfinding, not sniper rifles, not bandits.

Makes me think these people are hacking then downplaying it on forums.

Wouldn't even surprise me, there's enough of them.

1 million players, probably 200k hackers.

It's reached the level now that DayZ should probably just be shut down until a solution is found to bring it to a workable (read: TESTABLE) level.

After all, we can't do any alpha testing with this much hacking going on.

some people play on low pop servers, hackers don't go there as much. i've only seen a confirmed hacker once and have been playing for 2 months.

I only play on low population servers, and I've never encountered a hacker besides one server that was completely on fire. Quickly left that one, nothing bad happened. I might be a tiny minority, but my biggest complaint with this game is the zombie pathing.

People focus on the bad times, forget the normal times. Its natural to exaggerate this issue without realising. Victims of hackers will come to the forums to say so, while very few people come to the forums to tell us about their normal dayz experience. Hacking will also be reported here more often than other problems as there is an obvious person to blame and who we want revenge on. Because of this, hacking will be the most talked about problem regardless of whether its actually the most widespread.

Saying something on a forum doesn't make you a cheater/scripter. Furthermore I do think people (I am one of them) are getting pretty much fed up with all the threads popping up everywhere about "cheater on XXXserver". We get it, enough allready!

Trust me, the DEV team, BE and whoever is involved in DayZ is aware of the issue.

Yeah but this will go away if the hacking is nipped at least partially in the bud(tt)..

I find it quiote interesting to read what to look out for.

I averted and could defend my character against 3 hacking attacks.

One was a god mode player and two were on log in..

I also have a special technique besides the low pop server thing on how to minimise the hacker threat. Soon they will be on low pop servers too. In a way you can see it as a game it itself to avert the low brain function script kiddies. Doubtlessly, once they will get me. So I start again.

Dealing with assholes whose daddies sperm was wasted on a doubtlessly mediocre orgasm, is kinda the challenge in this game. :)

It's not "downplaying," it's just that nearly everyone here knows about this already. Your brand new shiny thread adds nothing new to the discussion, so people sick of hearing about something they already know about it and have been dealing with roast the thread.

Yes, hackers/scripters/whatever are annoying and suck. Battleye seems to be an ineffective tool to manage or control this. We get it.

Not to mention, these kinds of threads, people whining, pissing, and moaning, only encourage scripters to continue ruining others' gameplay experiences. "hurr durr look how mad they are, let's make em moar mad"

I doubt it. A hacker that has spent a decent chunk of time in order to get an advantage over other players is going to want alot of players to use that advantage on. Stop trying to make people think this affects everyone.

As much it is a pain in the arse, try to be the better man. Laugh about it, respawn and move on. 99,99999% of any cheaters/scripters fun is you raging, qq-ing and writing about it on the official forums.

So yeah, sometimes you're just better of denying the very existance of the griefers.

If you hadnt used the verb "ruined" here I would agree with you. Its not ruined, you know its not ruined, and its easily proven that its not ruined by the fact that there still are high pop servers out there, full of people voluntarily playing. The experience is lessened by it, thats it. I swear, people who get so emotionally attached to these issues that they need to lie in order to justify their constant whining about it do more damage to this game than hackers do.

I've been playing about a month, I'm not a script kiddie(hacker for those who insist). I've never hit respawn for a better spawn. I don't dupe or use any of the infinite tricks. I have never hit alt-F4 or logged to avoid death.

I have only ever seen 1 scripter, and I didn't alt-F4.

I won't join a server that has 20 or more players on it. I also don't play at the prime hours for my region so I'm pretty sure most of them are in bed or on the non-usa servers.

I don't doubt there is an issue but they can be avoided by playing on severs they don't go to, that being low pop servers.
