Fat-Marco 13 Posted August 4, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, i wanted to replace my graphics card (my current one is horrible) and I wanted some advice. Just the stock fans)Monitor: running at 1920x1080I dont have have any SSD's or any of that fancy stuff but I do plan on installing RAMdisk to help alleviate the hard-drive to game communication speed. My budget is 250 MAXIMUMany help would be appreciated Edited August 4, 2012 by Fat-Marco
ottis 9 Posted August 4, 2012 nVidia GeForce GTX 560Ti - one of the most popular GPUs today and many commentators on YouTube that play DayZ have this card and are very satisfied with it (know a few people IRL as well), no complains. There are also quite a few alternatives from ATi such as 7850...In the end, it is really just your choice. Btw 250 what? Bananas?

I thought you 60 fps guys were running those 800$ cards
Priceless 154 Posted August 4, 2012 GPU there are plenty to choose from that will play it nice, your CPU is the most important as ArmaII is cpu intensive.
Fat-Marco 13 Posted August 4, 2012 GPU there are plenty to choose from that will play it nice, your CPU is the most important as ArmaII is cpu intensive.I dont plan on changing my cpu. Just my video card. My cpu should suffice for high fps in day-z (according to various people on forum). They told me my current video card is the problem (a crappy card that sold for $45 two years ago)
ottis 9 Posted August 4, 2012 I am running GTX670 and even I am not safe in and around cities. It is happening to almost everyone no matter what the system is but from what I see CPU plays bigger role than GPU and your new CPU looks quite good (I have 3570K). However I overlooked your power supply, you WILL have to change it to something like 500-600W because 300W PSU is just too low for the GPU you want. So as I said anything similiar to 560s price range will do imho :)
Tweakie 199 Posted August 4, 2012 670 is the best current GPU, I can recommend. I myself would buy a AMD 78**, due to the price/performance. Or a 77**, for the money is not enough.THAT BEING SAID. A 300watt PSU, is not enough to power it all reliably. You should look into some more like a 500-600 watt, unless you want the option to SLI later on, in which care consider getting a 700Watt+.And do get a good PSU, they are the heart of you computer, buy a cheap one and you will regret it. Tweakie 199 Posted August 4, 2012 (edited) But as other people have said, getting good FPS in ARMA, more specificity DayZ, is about your CPU. But you have a pretty good CPU, upgrading it now is abit of a waste. Edited August 4, 2012 by Tweakie
Fat-Marco 13 Posted August 4, 2012 i can get a new power supply (their not too expensive) but that gtx 670 is listed as $400+. Thats a bit too rich for my tastes. What would you reccomend in the 200-280 price range? I really wanna keep my budget under $300 once all the taxes and everything have been included. Dam government always in my pocket! =)

mwgarner@hotmail.com 4 Posted August 4, 2012 You are going to be very limited with a 300w PSU. You could probably just about get away with a 6850 as they draw low power.
