We saw a chopper flying back and forwards over Berezino and hid in the trees deciding what action to take. Suddenly they decide to land in a field very close to us. The landing goes wrong. BOOM! No more chopper. Damn, we wanted to kill them and steal it. We approach cautiously to find two dead players and they had some amazing stuff. MK48 MOD, AS50, M9SD, M4A1 CCO SD, plus all the equipment you could ever want. Much better loot that a normal downed chopper, and best of all? No zombies. LOL.

I'm not afraid to die as I know exactly where a large base is on a certain server that I can just run back to and gear up with EVERYTHING. The base is always loaded so they must be duplicating stuff. To be honest it's making the game kind of stale at the minute. Plus I play with a group of people and that makes the chances of survival so much greater. I miss the early DayZ where I would be playing solo, be constantly afraid, and overjoyed when I found a can of soda! Now even the high end military gear seems common to me. I might start playing solo and avoid the server where I know the base location. Might make the game fun again...

I agree with what you are saying. I made a post yesterday regarding the differences between playing solo and playing with a group. It is like playing two completely different games. Playing solo makes this game feel like a zombie apocalypse, playing in a group makes this game feel like a PVP death match. I started out playing solo and this game scared the crap out of me. I loved it! Then I played with a group of 5 or 6 real life friends and suddenly the game wasn't scary at all. We actually get a bit bored looking for things to do as survival is pretty much a certainty as we have all the best equipment. Even if we die, we have a base loaded with stuff to go back to. I am actually contemplating only playing this game solo going forwards and not using online maps or other things to assist me. But, like others have said, if grouping up with friends was not an option in this game, a LOT of people wouldn't play it anymore. So there needs to be at least some choice for the player. If there were specific anonymous servers where you have to play solo and group with randoms, that would be great.

Fingers crossed we can have more than one character in the full game. Can have the best of both worlds then. :)

I started out playing this mod solo and had some of the most tense, adrenaline inducing moments I have ever experienced when playing a game. Running round, with no clue where I am going, crawling past zombies, hearing them snarling and praying that they don't see me. Then there was the sense of elation as you come across a weapon, any weapon, Makarov, Lee Enfield, no matter how poor. Anyway, I eventually started playing with a group of friends which is still great fun but it feels like a lot of the magic is gone. I rarely get any exciting moments now as survival is so much easier. Sometimes seeing another player can make things interesting. Though I would imagine most players would run a mile when they see 5 of us with ghillie suits carrying the best weapons in the game (I know I would). I am currently running with an L85, M4A1 CCO SD, M9SD, Ghillie Suit, NVG's, GPS, Range Finder. Basically everything I need. We have a camp with 6 or more tents all full of the best equipment. I see why so many people turn to being bandits or concentrating on PVP once they are this geared up. I personally have only 1 murder in all my time playing. I can't remember the last time I died to a zombie or another player. In fact my last death came due to a glitch in the game. I have gotten into the habit of using the online maps too which further takes away from the immersion.. So, I am seriously contemplating starting over and playing solo to see if any of the magic comes back. I will not use online maps or any other assistance, only the tools provided by the mod.

I've done 2 trades in the last couple of days. Both went without a hitch. Just make sure it's on your terms and if possible have someone over watching.Also, make sure you both agree on course of action during the trade, i.e no pointing gun at each other.

You are going to be very limited with a 300w PSU. You could probably just about get away with a 6850 as they draw low power.
