Newbie question I couldn't find an answer for.

I occasionally find boars in the forests, but more often than not I find animals in open fields... much the same as you'd find a chopper crash in an open field.

As far as I've seen, they just spawn randomly in forests. I might be wrong though.

Generally anywhere near civilization/open fields for goats, cows and sheep. Boars spawn in forrests mainly.

animals spawn in open feild where wooden gates are present such as Goats, Cows, sheep, chicken. The forest holds Wild Boars, Rabits. rabits are always in the ruffage of the forest floor boars are always either on the rim of the tree lines or in the center of an open field

Chickens are one steak, they can be found in smaller towns (not worth the risk, too many Zed spawns), rabbits spawn pretty much anywhere, one steak, cows ultimate feast 8 steaks, found in fields, can sometimes take 7 bullets and still moo at you, goats and sheep are also found in feilds, these are 3 to 5 steak beasts, they like to port around like they're in some type of hocus pocus act, aim for the body, not the head. Boars are 4 to 5 steaks, found at the edge and in forests, these are fun to vault and often seen with their feet in the air on hill sides.

As far as I have seen, animals spawn randomly.

Boars can spawn in any forest, cows usually spawn in open areas, as well as gaots and rabbits seem to spawn everywhere.

All spawns seem to be quite random, but as far as I have experienced, boars seem to be the most common spawn. Just run around in a forestry area and you might run into one or two. By doing this, you might find a cow in the open, too.
