Dancing.Russian.Man 1631 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) TeamSpeak 3.Edit; Skype is also usable, but if the host for the call starts lagging, the call goes all robot-y. Edited August 3, 2012 by Dr621
SeanConnery 0 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Team Speak isn't free. It takes a subscription. Not sure about vent. Team Speak is quality, though.(Somone needs to rent the server. Not technically a "subscription" I suppose.) Edited August 3, 2012 by SeanConnery
Polkaman 60 Posted August 3, 2012 Teamspeak, I personally prefer skype a lot more.

Dev (DayZ) 113 Posted August 3, 2012 Mumble>all and no vent/ts/mumble servers are not free
Rollonio 54 Posted August 3, 2012 For teamspeak, ventrillo and mumble you need a server, which generally costs some money. The client is free for all of them.I like teamspeak and mumble.
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted August 3, 2012 Apparently Skype uses much less bandwidth if that helps.
zeroready 8 Posted August 3, 2012 http://www.raidcall.com/ RaidCall is the best I've used. Beats the hell out of TS, Vent, and Mumble. Free to start a server. No lag ever. Great interface. Use it!!
T.G. 48 Posted August 3, 2012 Skype is free, but you get what you pay for. Works well enough for everyone I play with though.
speuz-boris 0 Posted August 3, 2012 sounds maybe silly but my brother and I use the windows live messenger audio-chat function, works just fine. for more people i suggest to use teamspeak and if you really have to pay for it i guess you have enough people using it to split the bill nicely.. Prion 61 Posted August 3, 2012 i've used all the major players. ventriloteamspeakmumbleskypeALL clients are FREE. for voip beginners teamspeak is probably easiest to use, i prefer ventrilo, mumble is the open source alternative, and skype isn't really popular for team gaming. IIA7XII 4 Posted August 3, 2012 thanks guys....so yahoo party chat would work good thenyou can get up to 50 people into that at once
Teach (DayZ) 45 Posted August 3, 2012 you can host a free Ventrilo server that holds up to 9 people, and it can be downloaded from their website. If you need more room, you need to rent a server or pay for a license.
