I really wish Rocket would get this made into a stand-alone game!!

Recommended Posts

I respect Arma creators but to me they didn't deserve my 30$ when I bought this game three days ago. I ONLY bought their game for Day Z and I wish I could have given the 30$ to Rocket instead. I could be generous and donate another 30$ but I'm living on my own and I don't have a lot of money anymore. Are they getting any of the money that the Arma creators are getting? Any money at all of the 800,000 new purchases of Combined Operations? I know they created the original game and the engine but I wouldn't have thought twice about buying this game on its own. What do you guys think?

Why not play Arma II? It's an awesome game with an awesome campaign. I don't understand people who complain about having to pay for ArmA, because they bought it just to play DayZ. That's your fault. You are limiting yourself to a very small portion of ArmA.

I thought they hired him for ARMA 3 and he declined and he quit the company awhile ago to work fully on Day Z.

Its just a mod, they didnt make this from scratch. It's only on aplha.. thank god, and It needs numerous amount of fixes.. and I mean like over 1000 hours of fixes and updates and updates to become a 'stand alone game' I would never buy this an extra 30 for this even though this is all I play.

I wouldn't have ever bought Arma II had it not been for DayZ. Ideally, when I did purchase Arma, my money would have went straight to DayZ and its development.

Don't buy this game for just DayZ, buy ARMA 2 for ARMA 2 and DayZ if you wish.

And they do deserve your money, because why would they give out their game for free?

It actually is a nice game. I never played it till after DayZ as well. But I liked the more realistic feel which s amazing. The submersion is what ARMAII Devs were going for and they put that as priority number one. I say bravo to them because they made an amazing game.

That profile pic is probably you. Show some respect to the base of the whole DayZ mod and the ones who actually released their product to allow modding.

Arma 2 is actually a great game in my opinion, when I bought it I only bought it for DayZ but then I actually played the regular game and I thought it was 30 well spent. I am willing to pay 30 dollars again for a standalone. If anything he should make it free until the Alpha is up, then when it gets to beta it should be 15$ 50% off, and when it's at full release it should be 30$.

LOL ya it is, like my uber-good photoshop? I do respect to the original dev team but once again they are get hundreds of thousands of purchases for a mod for their game. I personally would take that as an insult, everyone is buying my game to not play my game? But I wouldn't care because i'm raking in a millions for someone else's hard work. My game was dead, and someone else breathed life into it again. I would owe them a hell of a lot.

He said an announcement would be made very soon and it's likely we will see something out by October, possibly even September at earliest. I don't even know how that is supposed to work being so soon but that's what he said.

Starts at about 24 minute mark.

Slackin, please do research and verify information before you make threads that make you look foolish.

It takes years to develop a good game, either be patient with the mod or go play something else and wait a long time for the final release.

Hopefully the standalone will be based from the Arma III engine, that way most of the work is done already, but there is still lots to do to turn that into a zombie survival game.

I love the game, my ONLY complaint was I didn't know if the money was going to where it deserved. I have no clue if Day Z dev team is getting any of the money or not. But I know as a stand-alone game then they will be getting money. I would have 5$ go to the original dev and the other 25$ to the Day Z dev.

If you took the time to do some research you would know the answer.

Rocket is an BIS employee, he was developing DayZ in his spare time during the development of Arma III. Since the success of DayZ, BIS have moved him and some other people to work full-time on DayZ. BIS pay Rockets salary, therefore buying Arma II gives BIS money to pay his salary. I expect that the standalone will use the Arma III engine, so Rocket and BIS will make money from this.

I ate the beans I gave you because sometimes I feel the same but I don't want to admit it.

That's why I gave my beans to you instead.
