am I going crazy?...those sounds

The thing is with the sounds...

I was playing on a nighttime server and was trying to find a camp to refill food and stuff.

Found one and as usual I stayed in the woods for a couple o minutes and was scouting the area for any player movements/sounds made by them.

Minutes later decided to move in to check the tents and that was the time I heard it.

It's similar to the sound you make when running with a primary weapon out, sort of clap clap clap... wasn't that loud, but I'm pretty sure that was the same sound.

Now I remember hearing that sort of sound during daytime, always thought that must be a woodpecker around, but i never heard it during the night.

Anyone else with same experience?I just want to find out, whether that was another player or it's just the sound effects during the night?

Yup, I think it's birds wings if it's the right sound I'm thinking of. It used to always make me stop and look around. Sometimes it sounds like distant gunfire and other times it sound like a player jogging. Keeps you on your toes though.

I can't remember hearing it at night.

Yes. I've heard it at night as well a few times recently on different servers. I keep thinking someone is stalking me and it doesn't quite sound like the birds in the day to me. It's probably just my imagination getting the better of me. Maybe there are night birds in the woods, like owls or something. I don't have NVG and make sure I play on servers with no tags at night so I can't see if anyone or anything is around me. I've only heard it in the woods. It sounds like a person. Shit, the hairs are standing up on my arms just writing about it. It is seriously creepy and.... I love it!
