Try using a program called fraps, their is a free version, but it only records up to 30 (?) seconds I believe. It's one of the more common and known ones.

FRAPS is a resource hog, I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a very capable PC.

Your opening post says nothing of you having any form of video software whatsoever. Only later did you mention you have hypercam, and if it is not working, maybe try another one before starting a thread and going apeshit in it because your question sucks.
