hoffa (DayZ) 71 Posted August 1, 2012 (edited) I just met youAnd this is crazyBut your backpack is closedSo open it maybe?Edit: You'll only see the actual backpack slots when you're picking up gear. If you open your backpack just to see what's inside, you'll only get numbers next to items that are in the backpack. Like when there's loot on the ground and you have to press the right arrow to take it. Edited August 1, 2012 by hoffa
dallas 5195 Posted August 1, 2012 To access your pack, you need to double click on it or click on it once and then click on the open button.

Jukez 44 Posted August 1, 2012 I have ALICE pack(20) and my buddy has a Czech Backpack(16), but we seem to both be able to carry the same amount. 12 in the main slots and 8 secondary slots. Am I missing something, is it bugged? Thanks!Double click the backpack in you inventory (or left click it and click "open bag" from the bottom) to open the bag. You can then move stuff between the bag and your active inventory using the arrows in the gear list. When you find some loot around, and want to put it straight to the bag, open the loot normally with mouse wheel +"gear" and when the inventory screen opens, again double click your bag. Then just move the stuff to the bag,When you find a bigger bag, the safest way to pick it up without losing your existing bag+the stuff you got in it, is to open the new bag on the ground and move all the stuff from your current bag to the new one. Only after this should you pick up the new bag. The old bag sometimes disappears when doing this. Remember that you need to clear all other loot that is near the bag on the ground before you can pick it up.
dallas 5195 Posted August 1, 2012 Packs are a bit tricky, experience will teach you what it can and cannot do. ...bitter experience.-If the pack is full and you place something inside it, you'll usually end up deleting the item.-A rifle takes up 10 slots, handgun 5. If you dont have enough free slots, you'll lose/delete/destroy the weapon.-Moving a weapon into the pack, the game will also move the ammo into it. If you don't have room for all, you might lose your ammo(maybe fixed?).-You can't drop stuff directly from your pack to the ground, if you drop an item on the ground or use a dead zombie, you can place items from the pack in the zombie or at the item. When you want to drop an item on the ground, only use the "drop" button, if you are throwing something away. When moving item around, always use the left inventory window, atleast untill you know what you're doing. < Water Bottle > Press > to pick something up into your right inventory, press < to drop it either on the ground or into your pack.If I have to throw away an item from my main inventory, while my pack is full, I usually drop it inside the pack, because it will destroy the item and leave no trace on the ground. If you have a rifle in your pack and want to switch it with the one your carrying. Move the one from you pack into you main inventory, then your main rifle, will automatically end in the pack. If you do it the other way, you'll destroy the main rifle.
