I've jet to find a playermade camp

Really, everyone says that it's kinda easy to find them, but I've been wandering for hourd and I still have to see one. Right now I'm walking near the Misty Mountain with no luck.

Any advice? I'm just unlucky or the camps have been taken out or something?

Try to check the Northend of the Map till you got to the east end of the map and then go south till you get to the blackmountainlakes. There are each server at least one :)

I guess it depends on what you mean by "camp". I have found tents...that's kinda "campish". It's not concertina and sandbags, but it's another players stuff.

Found a couple last night. I didnt' even kill the sheep...took some ammo from one, even left him/her some food in exchange. Took a weapon and some mags from another, but didn't take it all...was really just too lazy to start ferrying gear.

Well most are hidden, some are out in the open sometimes. Depends on the server and people. Probably won't find one if you look for them. You have to basically stumble upon them to find one really.

That is because you have a "jet" to find player made camps...travels over the ground waaaay too fast to see them.

If you were walking around, try looking on the high ground, out of the way of regular travel, away from towns, power lines and roads. Or in divots where a forest dips and reduces the ability to see into the area.

My buddies and I had 3 nice little 2 and 3 tent camps set up on two different servers in the same places. Some players like us like to have a nice stable base with extra ammo and food/pop to supply us when we get back from expeditions and need meat for blood etc and a place to store extras. (Of course since we got killed by hackers last night we lose all that.)

If you're looking for the big, duped in hacker/idiot camps, try the edge of the play map anywhere along the perimeter of the map or on the islands.

Start at the end of the map at the West bottom corner to North most point then go East and follow it all the way around, you will find loads (do a 100m sweep all way round)

I make it my main game play to find them, and also play on high numbers of player servers, you will strike gold each and every time.

Find a populated, somewhat-old server (check the creation date in the DayZ Commander server broswer) Spawn in Kamenka. Keep the water on your left and run (West) until you see "the line." It is where all grass and foliage ends. That line runs perfectly North-to-South. Run north on the line, often zooming in on the trees to your right (East) to check for tents. Before you hit the top of the map, provided you aren't blind or incredibly unlucky, you will likely find a base.

muhahahaha, a couple of days ago we found one. Around 10 tents full with everything the game has to offer. The camp belongs to a clan which is on the server most of the time and which enjoys hunting spawned players at the beach.

Needless to say, that we emptied the whole thing, kept what looked right and threw the rest into the bushes.

On top of hills on the far western and northern borders of the map (I mean right on the edge) you shall find tents and vehicles. Also because of the new heli spawns, Skalisty Island is a hot spot.

My mistake, the creation date is a field you can see in Six Updater in the Server Browser tab. It's alllll the way to the right.

Ive found quite a few legit ones (not bait tents). Don't try too hard, half of them have had very little in them. But one or two of them are full of military grade weapons, nvgs, maps, blood packs, gps....pretty much everything you need. The best ones ive found have actually been in water, which i thought strange. But apparently you dont lose items in water now.

You have to know where to look. Some spots are really common, though I doubt anyone is gonna reveal their secrets (neither am I)

losing items while swimming is dependant of a serverside setting now.

Well id tell you where i found 4 tents full of crashed heli gear, like FAL ASW, AS50, M4A1 CCO SD GPS rangefinders NVGs. But all i can say is it was in the largest of a ruined set of buildings northish of Elecktro, west of Vyshnoye. I noticed it had tree cover in a NW line to get to Stary so i guessed these were bandit tents. I took the AS50 for a bit, it was garbage, then i tried the FAL ASW with the night vision scope, also garbage in daytime. I left them my Remington with flashlight id found at Balota airfield. oh yeah this was on US 265. happy looting

I've found a lot on my main server, juts gotta run around the edge of the map, ontop of hills.. You'll find em. People are predictable and finding them is quite easy, don't look close to towns, venture out.

Wander around the edges of the map. Spot the map for level areas, like tops of hills, valleys, anywhere that looks level and looks like you can hide something behind it. I find several camps per day just by going from A to B. They're not in the plain sight, but the moment you set in to the woods and take a look at the map for a possible camp site, that's what there'll be.
