People, please. Stop mislabeling.

Recommended Posts

So some of you may have read some posts of mine that have pretty much been the same thing: "Bandits =/= murderers."

I really can't stress this point any further.

A murderer is one who kills another because they can. Not for their loot, not because they are a threat. Murderers, for example, are those who sit on the hills that surround Cherno/Elektro [perhaps Berezino] sniping the somewhat fresh spawns with their .50 cals [or DMRs for the NVGers].

A bandit is one who kills when they deem the situation to be in necessity of said product. A bandit is one who robs other players because they NEED the items/equipment to survive, or want an upgrade from their current equipment. I recall a player named Acebane [he has a YT channel which I forgot the exact username, sorry] who is quite a successful bandit. One of his videos included him holding up a player a robbing his victim of his M24; he ALSO gave the player his M107 in replacement. No one died nor did anyone need to. He gave the victim specific instructions that if were disobeyed, they would end in the victim's life being ended.

If you don't do what the robber/bandit asks, then you die. It's simple.

Murderers are NOT bandits. Do not give us a bad name by mislabeling.

And murderers, don't call yourself bandits. You are merely an irritation to most; a target to others. The majority of murderers aren't very good shots, so it's quite easy to eradicate them.

Don't complain about murderers [no, I'm not complaining about murderers myself] on these forums. If you don't like them, do something about it.

So once again, bandits =/= murderers. Differentiate between the two.

Good night.

EDIT: I also forgot the tl;dr version.

tl;dr-- second line in my signature.

EDIT 2: This is the video that I was referring to. Thanks to Acebane for providing it; sub to him!

Ahh, typical. It really just wastes other people's time; your two friends, in this case.

You're not a bandit you're a guy sat at a computer playing a game.

I don't get why you people desperatley feel the need to label yourselves and produce guidelines to categorise what label you belong to. The only place where anyone can see how you chose to label yourself is out of game situations where how you play is irrelevant because it isn't impacting anyone. Bandit is just a term people use to refer to non-friendly players, nothing more nothing less.

Yeah, definitely murderers are bad aim noobs and bandits are all over nice guys, that rob because they have too. I've never seen a real bandit, that doesn't shoot on sight and instead asks his target to e.g drop his weapons in 3 monthes of play. None of my friends have seen one either. So as the game itself calls PKers bandits, I will keep calling them bandits. If you kill for the loot or kill for the fun - you still kill the person. Doesn't matter to me.

Until altF4 is fixed then 'holding people up' as a bandit is poor choice compared with shooting the guy and taking whatever you needs.

Heya, it's Acebane21. You can watch my video that he's referring to on my channel, just click the link and find Bandit Act #7.

stop trying to redefine the game, see that little box on the dayz site? where it says bandits? dayz defines bandits as people who kill other people.

I don't find Acebanes' method of "banditry" plausible. It would be great if it were, but the majority of people disconnect when attempted.

"People are easier to search when they're dead."

The only players I'd really call bandits are the ones who actually kill for something they need.

Killing some player for his pain killers because you're shaking or don't have any at the moment. Is murder, if ya look in almost any building near you, you'll probably find them. I run across pain killers constantly, next to tin cans they're probably one of the most common spawns.

If you kill a player for his bag, or for his weapon or even more understandably for his food/water. Then sure, I call that as an act of banditry. But killing someone for an item that is spawned within probably a block radius of you. Makes you a murderer.

"bandits murder people...without murderering them."

No, bandits only murder if their victim is too stupid to not listen to them.

FPS = FIRST. PERSON. SHOOTER.

This game is not FPS. You can play it FP but that doesn't make it a First Person Shooter.

Just had to get that off my chest. Petty, I know.

I don't really see why one would rob a player for something that they don't need. But if it's to make the other person "feel bad" [or something], then it's being cruel. But it's not being a murderer.

I like those who are cruel.

Well, now we know why they do it. They need the target practice and when they have enough of it, they will be good at this game.

You can play as first person, you can shoot but this is not a first person shooter. OK that makes a lot of sense.
