Why dont we just take a city?

Recommended Posts

Well, surviving in Russia is hard, and it gets even harder with all those Z's out there.

So, a random Idea came to my mind.

Why dont we just take over a city? Like, setting up guards, and snipers, medics, all that stuff?

And everytime someone wants to explore, we set up a small group, and send them out? With a map, a compass, and come-back-time, of course.

Wouldn't that be a good idea?

Wanna hear your opinions, please!

Greetings

PS: I'm playing on EU3, and this is my Steam Profile:

Zombies respawn, people will backstabb. It'll be chaos.

Also hard to get people to work together for a common goal, people are greedy.

I know that the zombies are respawning, but so does the ammo, right?

And, yeah, people are assholes, but maybe we could find enough willing to play in a team!

Yeah, anything like this.

A place where survivors can fill/team -up and stuff.

A place of hope.

You would need to make sure the security is air tight...If hostile groups know where a lot of supplies are all bunched up they are for sure going to have a look at any populated city/town/outpost.

This would be a really fun thing to do and im all for helping with this! If you go through with this send me a message? with the server name, time-zone and I will happily give a hand!!!

1 Issue, I have the bandit skin because i got mad at everyone constantly killing me :) So I gave payback and now I'm a bandit.

Yep, tight security would be important. I would even do it, if I could get a Sniper Rifle.

Well, I'd have to know the people who would work there, write a bit with them and stuff.

If you're interested to help (I dont exactly know on which Server we should do it, but I would prefer EU3), just add me on Skype (xxgrievousxx) or write me a Mail (Marc@Julienshateblog.com)

It would be hard to set up guards even for a small town. You need like +10 people to keep the towns defence up, because there will be casualties. It would be a constant target of bandit raids (not that its a "bad" thing but they would break throught sooner or later). I would recommend a fortified ranch that you can keep up with less than 10 people rather than a town/village, it wouldnt be so attractive to bandit raids either.

Taking a city and setting up guards in it is entirely possible, but you have to deal with the respawning zombies. you would need a few people to watch the outskirts and give an early warning of bandits or other hostiles. another few to watch the town (assuming you are talking about a village about the size of Stary Sobor or smaller). And a couple to bring supplies for the men stationed in the town. A vehicle would be necessary.

Electrozavadorsk might as well be mine and like three other bandits on US3. We usually have it under pretty tight control.

Yep, that's why I said we could also take the military-medical station.

There are no zeds.

Ort at least just a few of them.

A safe spot (such as a city or a controlled trade spot) takes away the no-hope atmosphere this game is offering. I suggest not to do this.

I would love to visit a place like that and also be one of the guards to be honest. But yes, it should be really secure for others to be there. It should really be located somewhere more disclosed but somewhat open to see if anyone is trying to kill anyone from a longer distance. As there still are sniper rifles. Bandits can do good work with that. But yeah, a player set safe zone somewhere would be really epic, no boundries of the game just players keeping it safe from players for other players. scaled.php?server=268&filename=496ad0afyodawgxzibit48.jpg&res=landing

Never happen on a pub server, organized group how ever could do something like that, but it will just lead to PvP with 'outsiders'.

Actually have this happening right now on a French Server. We're holding down one of those large storage buildings thats completely open with just the 2 doors. We keep one side closed with a prone guard watching it and the rest keep an eye on the rest of the place to avoid people logging in on us. The rules are simple, if you come in with your weapon up, you die. If you have a pistol only and don't unequip it, you die. You state what you'd like then place down what you have in trade, and if it's a fair offer, we take the goods and give you your item(s) and escort you out. For added security we periodically move about and don't broadcast our location until we're set up and secure. Although, I wouldn't recommend it without team speak or the like as it is impossible to organize via typing.

We (Legion members) have been holding down a strong point for the last few days. We stockpile supplies and anyone that does not show hostilities are more then welcome to stock up before they move out. That is if they find it. Had a few players wander through, couple have stayed and helped out with the project.

Then let's have a no-fire zone, but unofficial and somewhere you can't snipe. WIth this, people arent forced to follow rules, and people can go together and kill the bandits thats close that wishes to kill those in trade zone.

that one tower on green mountain i think can work, theres only one entrance with concrete walls all around, however if they had some grenades it might get ugly

A city would be a logistical nightmare - and that's just getting enough ammo to kill the ever-respawning zombies. Plus, all it takes is for one or two determined bandits to make hit-and-run attacks on the 'guardians', and their ability to take care of the zombies is shot.

Spurdo is right - a barn (or a tiny outpost with a barn and perhaps a few other buildings) would be ideal. For a trading outpost and safehouse, this would work perfectly - guardian players are concentrated enough that it would take a large and well co-ordinated bandit raid to shake them - something that doesn't happen very often.

Cease fire zone would need the co operation of the whole server (- the bandits) its best for groups or armies to make there came somewhere near a town but not on the outskirts because its rare for players to travel in to the wild unless they believe its a shortcut to the town and the tower on green mountain would be ideal for a trade depot but has its flaws there are holes in the walls

would just have to watch the fence entrance
