Hey DEVS.. half the threads are about hackers...

Please, go to BI forums and post there. It is not up to DayZ team to fix the hacking. You can also ho to BE forums.

And half of this hax existed in the Arms II, and they were not fixed for long years.

I have... know what the devs said? It is a DayZ problem. Corporatism at it's best. I thought BI was one of the better corps out there. I guess I was wrong.

My gripe isn't really with Rocket. His heart is in the right place. My gripe is mainly with BI and BE. They aren't doing their job. They made millions off a dead product.

it wasnt dead just because you werent playing it

i am now certain you have aspergers btw

About 90% of those threads are people who got their ego deflated and scream "HACKS" to somehow diminish the fact that they got outplayed.

I was going to post the same sentiment. Exactly one time I got transformed in to a cow and teleported to the NWAF, where I promptly aborted instead of being shot (as the dead cows on the floor had been). One time, no more, that's confirmed script cheating and I have never otherwise had a reason to think I was "hacked".

I have never been killed in the wilderness or a city by a "hacker", not personally. I have no trouble believing it happens, but I have been lucky and have always been able to explain how I died, and I think the vast majority of people who post about how they got "hacked" really just ragequit because someone shot them and they needed to vent. It happens on the forums for all shooters.

You can often tell when you get hacked. Taking a bullet from an unknown location doesn't always mean you got "hacked". Emptying a clip in to someone and them not dying, when the server falls over and/or you have a ping of 500, does not mean you got "hacked".

My gripe isn't really with Rocket. His heart is in the right place. My gripe is mainly with BI and BE. They aren't doing their job. They made millions off a dead product. What have they done to make this engine more secure for us? The real player base? NOTHING! In fact, they fucked up the guns (which, once again I don't give a shit, cause I still one shot) and said, "sorry guys... here is a note in our beta patch."How many people play Arma 2 world wide? How many people play DayZ world wide? Oh, OK!It is sad that the company that Rocket works for, and the fact he made them millions, and they aren't even trying to donate help without strings attached. Wonder why Rocket doesn't want to take their help. I guess it is because they will control the game in the end and Rocket isn't a dummy. Like I said, Rocket knows, his hands are tied. Who really loses? We do. You are like that silly girl that gets raped by a stranger then tries to protect him, saying he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing.

My understanding is that Rocket is in no way an employee of BIS, nor has he been. He was a contractor, which is a bit different. I'm not sure why you think they are offering him large amounts of help here. Many of the problems with the game, as you mentioned(I think) are because of ArmA 2. BIS has not had any real amount of money until DayZ sold a shit ton of copies of ArmA 2 for them. Some bugs have already been fixed. You notice the frequent beta updates? Those are ArmA 2 updates, not DayZ.

I have no idea what level of fixes we will see, but you must realize that work is still being done to the ArmA 2 engine.

http://arma2.swec.se/server/list?filter_dayz=1&filter_dedicated=1&mquery=&nquery=&page=2I took out DayZ but there are still those care bear sanctuaries. So, 30% (that is generous) are still dayz. How many people are playing?Oh, OK!Now, I hope I don't have to post DayZ stats, to make you look even dumber. ARMA 2 OA was a dead product. There are maybe 20K players worldwide. Jesus do you guys even think before you speak?

I'm amazed by how many people posting in this thread haven't searched the forums for this exact topic. It's been explained again and again so I'm not sure why so many of you are confused. :(

Yeah. Hackers suck. Search the forums, determine if you still think its worth playing and make a decision there.

Thank you for acknowledging it. We are on the same page. You are being cordial. I am not. Corporatism is horrible. They should be sucking Rocket's dick. He made them millions. Now, they just update Arma 2 for Arma players, while fucking with our damage specs. Nice!

Thats odd I was playing it online occasionally before dayz and always got a game. Have you heard of Project Reality mod for arma? I was playing that heaps until around febuary and it was busy then. Many people continue to play arma mods, as before. They are often at select times on locked servers too. Your filters cant see certain versions and popular mods either. It's a deep modding community. You just dont get it. BTW Bohemia also run the VBS 1 and 2, so they have bigger other shit on their plate - ya know, contracts with militaries and stuff. basically they owe you fuck all sunshine

And there it is folks. Just through corporatism at the other person. They owe us and Rocket for making their dead product a success years after they threw it together for a commercial based product. You know, support your product and such. If I ran BI, I would take a million of the 20 million they cleared... and set up a team at Rockets disposal so the final product (which I would gladly pay 100 dollars for - fully fixed, of course). I would off course require my expenses back plus 10%. That is how business should work. Once again, I know why Rocket doesn't want BI to help. They would fuck it and it would do as well as their dead product. I'm done. Most of you are 12 and how no clue what this world has become. You are gifted shit by your parents, grow up and realize this is exactly what is tearing apart the fabric of society. These CEO's with their sycophantic hordes. It means you are bitch, by the way ;)

Actually Bohemia Interactive is one of the least greedy of the gaming industry. Its hardly their fault someone made a mod for their game which drew in the masses, along with the hacker-trolls and asperger sufferers.

Get this:

You aren't the CEO.

Hacking can't be stopped in any game.

Hacking is not out of hand in this game.

You are the cause of hacker's delight.

This game was a success prior to Dayz. Arma 2 was a SEQUEL btw.. Not to mention that in itself came from Operation Flashpoint.. The original of that is very old. The game has lined store shelves for over a decade and you want to claim it was dead (when they were on the cusp of releasing another fucking sequel) and they should slam the breaks on everything to fix your server? Now you have a number of clearly identifiable psychological disorders so i dont know where to start, but you could begin by looking at the stars and realising you are fuck all

You're wrong on a point or two here. Hackers are, in fact, out of control. Any server with 20+ people has a pretty good chance of seeing a hacker at some point throughout the day. I won't suggest that it'll happen on every server at some point, or that they are 'everywhere', but they are in fact a major problem at the moment. Just because you have been lucky and haven't had a run-in with a hacker does not mean your experiences are typical.

Now on to your other point that hackers cannot be stopped in any game. This is a silly way to phrase something like that. You are basically implying that since they can't be stopped, don't bother? That's a pretty idiotic perspective to have and it makes you stupid for having it, literally. Your actual brain functions are diminished now. While you can never lock down a game enough to prevent any hacking whatsoever, you can most CERTAINLY strengthen it's security to the point where you seriously minimize the amount of hackers, as well as a detection scheme that will allow you to ban them quickly after those few who do succeed in hacking do so.

By the way, to call this game a 'success prior to DayZ' is foolish. Compared to the numbers before DayZ, the game was an abysmal failure. HOWEVER. Being that it was a niche game, it did fine for the ambition it had. It was never expected to sell like a AAA title. Now that it has, however, it's a much different beast. It's also probably part of the reason the dev team did NOT heavily update the game and moved on to working on their next project to provide income - because the first game didn't sell enough to justify putting a large team on updating it.

Horrible, horrible post. You should be ashamed.

Hackers cant be stopped. If you are determined to hack as a probro or as a troll you will get there. It is a massive industry in the gutter swiping AAA titles. The systems catch those not paying their monthly hax bills. Its a freaking facade. They dont ban people in BF3 for hacking, they reset stats. I just dont understand people coming in here and bitching at the teet which keeps them all warm and milked frankly.

By the way, to call this game a 'success prior to DayZ' is foolish.

OFP CWC was out in 2001. That's over a decade ago. The franchaise was still going strong -somehow- without you guys, as they are about to release the next installment. That installment was highly anticipated I might add, before any word of Dayz was out. So it was and remains a success prior to dayz. There is no element of foolishness, only a presumption on your part that you are entitled to whinge and complain about what other consumers do with their product. Threads like this serve no purpose but to amuse hackers.

Compared to the numbers before DayZ, the game was an abysmal failure.

Just because the corridor shooters got attracted by the zombie genre does not mean good things for the actual product; arma. There is much debate on that point on the BI forum. You come with these entitled views, typical of that audience.

HOWEVER. Being that it was a niche game, it did fine for the ambition it had. It was never expected to sell like a AAA title.

Hence, not dead. A very alive modding communtiy game - a point often missed on this forum. You know why its missed? Because these kids had their heads up their asses with bf/cod whatever other stuff over these years or were barely walking when OFP was out.

Now that it has, however, it's a much different beast.

How so? They owe you something special now? A cuddle?

It's also probably part of the reason the dev team did NOT heavily update the game and moved on to working on their next project to provide income - because the first game didn't sell enough to justify putting a large team on updating it.

People who played Arma/OFP prior to Dayz never had big issues with hackers, on that same engine. Its you, the entitled crowd, bringing that shit in with you, dragging it behind you. Arma 2 continued and continues to be updated and will continue to be modded even with arma 3 is out.

Horrible, horrible post. You should be ashamed.

Strange as I am not lol, the guy is obviously a fucking nutjob
