Scutticus 14 Posted July 31, 2012 On many occasions I seem to run into this problem where after running a reasonably long distance to find loot in an area, that no loot spawns and occasionally no zombies spawn.I don't think it's a server problem as none of my group seem to have this problem so I usually put it down to my IP not syncing with the server correctly, therefore causing the server not to trigger the spawning near to me. However it seems to happen more and more so I was wondering if anyone else experiences this/has any fixes? Sorry if this is a duplicate, but I have no idea how I would search for this :P
Discord (DayZ) 1 Posted July 31, 2012 Yeah I notice that too.Sometimes whole citys would have absolutely no loot, not even empty tin cans.
SmashT 10907 Posted July 31, 2012 Are you spawning in the town?
Scutticus 14 Posted July 31, 2012 Are you spawning in the town? No, usually when I go to loot spawns which are a long distance away...For example I ran from Balota to Zelengorsk supermarket: Nothing spawned there, no zeds, not even a tin can...
godr4@yahoo.com 3 Posted August 1, 2012 I can confirm this too. Spawned East of Elektro, ran the 5mins to the supermarkets and medium residential buildings. Nothing in them. Not a single item in any of them, not even tin cans. There were definitely geeks spawning though.Waited 10mins and then ran through them again to still find nothing. It's funny though, whenever i mention that there's no loot spawning I get accused of server hopping :)
mr_seacucumber 81 Posted August 1, 2012 Yes use to have this in cherno the trick is to make sure you take ALL the loot from every spawn and make sure you go for a big run :)
godr4@yahoo.com 3 Posted August 1, 2012 Yes use to have this in cherno the trick is to make sure you take ALL the loot from every spawn and make sure you go for a big run :)Loot farming? Thanks, but no thanks.Doesn't really work if there's no loot int he first place. And we're not just talking about piles of cans here. There is literally no loot at all sometimes. I've pretty much always experienced this with deerstands; I'm positive the game just doesn't spawn loot for me as 9/10 stands i visit are completely empty. It's definitely beyond bad luck and in to bug/network territory.

I think stuff spawns (zombies/loot) as you trigger it when close enough. so this could mean that it could be related to connection and how fast our PCs can sync with the server telling it where we are. Thats the only possible reason I see for this happening...
gambla 118 Posted August 1, 2012 I would just take it as realistic. The long walks are no fun but ok, somebody or a group looted everything.

It's good exercise and I love being in the great outdoors. I don't believe 90% of deer stands have been looted just before I got there. Doesn't matter how far I watch them from to ensure nobody else approaches or how long I wait; loot generally doesn't spawn for me at stands.
Bludy 324 Posted August 1, 2012 it seems the server needs a restart..try to join one restarted recently and see if you can spawn something
echosyp 56 Posted August 1, 2012 I've tested this before and found that if I loot the barracks clean and log out and wait for stuff to respawn it will not respawn even tho I am logged out. I have to log back in and run at least 30m away for it to respawn. So my guess is someone looted everything and logged out and stuff will now respawn until a server restart or that person logs back in and runs at least 30m away.Basically the same thing as loot farming except the person logs out so they won't be killed and doesn't know that stuff won't respawn even tho they are logged out. Many people do it farming ghillie suits in elecktro and cherno.
Scutticus 14 Posted August 1, 2012 I don't know, why would people take EVERY tin can and whiskey bottle?
MikeTupper 68 Posted August 1, 2012 Yeah sometimes loot is fucked up too, like supermarkets full of backpacks only
Ankhenaten 111 Posted August 1, 2012 Once ran into Berenzino from the North made it halfway into it until the first zed spawned. Was weird :D
L0G!N (DayZ) 149 Posted August 1, 2012 Yeah i noticed this too, there seems to be quite a delay between zombies/loot spawning and me arriving at a certain location. The workaround that sometimes seems to work is to take it slow. Now i realize the empty streets must be quite inviting to get to your desired spawn location, but instead you should likely wait at the edge of town untill you see the zeds spawn. Then wait a bit as they start their route, then find a safe'ish moment to get to your loot...I read here on the forums that loot and zeds spawn at the same'ish time, and that no loot will spawn if you are at a certain location. While this is just hearsay it does seem to comply with this issue. What also seems to 'work' somewhat is make a round through town, visiting all buildings in said town untill you find one with loot in it, then it's fairly likely that all the buildings have now spawned their loot, so from this point onwards your 'real' round around town can start ;)
