hardcoreymp 16 Posted August 3, 2012 This is not feasible. The zeds have to be pushed back to the hive if people are joining. Thus increasing the load on the server. I agree that there should be a slight increase into how far you have to be for zeds to spawn but 500 would be max in terms of server and network load. in the 2000m example you would have major contention issues as well because zombies would spawn and then dissappear constantly as people circle around townships/cities. Two people who are 4 square kilometeres apart, 1999m <- Center of town -> 1999m should not have to add extra load to the server for no use at all. Which right now, is pvp, which makes zombies the #1 way to locate and snip someone. Which increases server hopping, as I would rather stay at my sniper nest and hop servers looking for players (aka, zombies in the town) than wait around for hours hoping someone comes to the town.That said, this fix will also reduce server hoping and make towns safer from snipers. You know there's a middle ground also ?Why not either :- Permanent spawn of zombies in big towns and hot spots like Stary/Airfields/Balota Camp.- Progressive spawn when a player is getting closer to a town :i.e a player starts spawning zombies at 1000m for example but not 100% of them) Edited August 5, 2012 by Fence Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Wokky 13 Posted August 5, 2012 I'd be content with an interim fix where zombies are not visible beyond spawning range, and that range is increased slightly to 300 or 400 metres.
