Guns

Excuse me if i missed a thread about this already but I just want to learn a little bit more about the guns in the game. And if a big thread has been written up about it already, could you please point me there?

I'm currently in Stary Sobor and just raided the military tents not too long ago and thats when I really realized I don't know too much about the guns that are currently in the game. In the tents I came across a wide variety of guns I could have taken along with me. Eventually I walked away with a Winchester Rifle just because I hear a lot of talk about them on the forum. I also had the option of taking some weapons that were like M4-blah blah blah and I just wanted to know which gun I should take the next time I run into something like this.

At stary, I recommend you take any automatic gun over something like a winchester or a lee enfield. Guns with good optics like the AKS-74 Kobra, M4A1/3 CCO, DMR are a definite pick up if you don't have anything better.

EDIT: Always consider how much ammo you are going to have for the gun before you pick it up. Yeah, it is nice to have a good gun but if you have no ammo for it, it is worthless.
