Why Punish People for a Certain Playstyle?

Yawn. This is why they shouldn't allow people to disconnect insantly to begin with. Make it so a player has to actually take time to make a "camp" and then after that he is able to be logged out. If he tries to log out without going through this process, his body will persist there for a few minutes before actually disappearing. Then there would be no problem with DC'ing. I have never played any of the Call of Duty games. I prefer CS:S over that shit. Real health, no retarded regen. You should try it sometime.

    Clan oriented AS50 TWS duping...

Can't rocket just ban all guns that aren't a part of DayZ begin with? There should be some sort of checking mechanism in the hive database that should run a check on a gun to make sure it is an official DayZ gun. If it isn't, it will remove the gun (or item, ammo) from the character's inventory. That won't stop players from stashing it on the servers, but it will make it difficult for players to use the gun because it wont save in the database.

    Why Even Have Bandit Skins?

I think it was good to re-add it back into the game. Without them, there were no friendlies. DayZ was a PvP deathmatch where no one could meet with anyone because no one could determine who is a friendly character or not. It was all shoot on sight. It doesn't dumb down the game it all. It makes it more complex. Now people aren't always killing eachother, which was a problem when they took the bandit skins out. Didn't matter if you yelled friendly, because there was no reason to be friendly. You'd just get shot. Now, being friendly has a benefit: you can keep your humanity score high and let other players know you are friendly. And you will really be friendly if you expect to keep that skin.

Which setting directly effects player models?

It's object detail. For example, sometimes you can only see animals and players only when you zoom in. This is because you have set object detail low. Set it higher, and you will be able to see small objects from far away without having to explicitly hold down the right mouse button.

    Computer Help

Graphics card doesn't really matter too much. Arma 2 is a CPU heavy game. I have a 9800GTX+ (paired with Phenom II X4 965) and it runs fine if I turn antialiasing off.
  6. I have one set of tank trap kits. Don't know if it is worth anything though... maybe camo clothing?

    Trading FN FAL AN/PVS-4 w/ 4 mags.

IMO the FN FAL with the iron sights is more practical. I have used the AN/PVS-4 and it's okay, but the fact the sights can be only used when dark breaks the weapon. The gun isn't worth a GPS and/or NVGs. You are hoping too much. For me it was a throw away weapon. It wasn't even worth carrying around.

    Finding Vehicles Useless

Seen many tractors... but who the hell wants to drive one? They can haul stuff, but you're helpless when you are driving the plains with them. Other than that, driven bicycles and ATV's. Seen a bus to drive once on another server but it was in the middle of cherno and wasnt worth the risk. Seen a bunch of people driving cars and pickup trucks, but never got my hands on one myself. Haven't seen a helicopter though.

What is your Character's D&D alignment?

I can't imagine anyone really being good. I understand that people have said they are good, but they will still shoot people even though the guy isn't shooting at them yet. I realized I am more of a neutral player, not as evil as I previously thought. Encountered a sniper outside of Zelenogorsk one time. He had an m107, and I was in range to kill him (we were both looking at eachother, I had the gun to do it too, an m249). I had the time, but I hesitated (trying to understand his intentions), and he went prone on the ground and disconnected immediately. It all happened within the course of a few seconds, but I think it really highlights what sort of player I am. I agonize killing innocent people, like this one guy who yelled friendly and I shot him. Only later my friend said he yelled friendly, and I felt bad about it. Lawful neutral. However, I still shoot people who are threats (aka they see me, shoot me, or actively trying to kill me).

    Best Patch EVER

Live with it. You are playing it in alpha. I have had things just like this happen to me before, but I have stuck with it and enjoyed it. IMO the game is really boring if you have all the best shit in the game anyway.
  11. Don't call that screen tearing. That is an entirely different issue. V-sync generally fixes screen tearing, but now a days nobody really experiences it.

Looking to trade M16A4 AGOG SD Mags

    Still a horrible combination.

To not get shot. What will it take. Seriously

    Bind the surrender key.

    Trading MK48 MOD 0 for M24/DMR

Friend has DMR, but don't think he would be too keen on giving it away for an mk 48 mod 0. I would like it, but I am already the machine gunner of the party :P

POLL: What do you do once you're geared up?

Helicopter site runs and barracks runs. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING BETTER OUT THERE!
