I found a site with a bunch of scripts and other hacks, would reporting the site to the DayZ devs help to counter some of these?

(No, I'm not posting the site publicly and no I don't use or condone hacks.. I know how to do it, but I hate cheaters with a passion..)

Also, can we stop calling them hackers? They're not. They're script kiddies that google for hacks and think it makes them cool.

Alright, a common problem with everyone on the forums complaining about hacking is that you can be killed by a sniper from a very long range, in that case the sound wont be heard by you, say if a guy with an AS50 shoots you at about 800 meters, you wont hear the gunshot, or atleast a loud one, you would just fall over dead. Then you would come onto the forums and say, "I was hacked!" but you weren't, too many people don't understand that that can happen.

Been playing for 2+ months and I've never once felt like I was a victim of hacking. Yea, I've been sniped w/ no gunshot sound, but I was also the dumbass running across NWA or through Stary w/o scoping it out.

However, I have glitch died (just died randomly, broke legs from walking, randomly warping off of the tops of buildings, being 1-hit by zeds through walls, etc.) countless times. I will not DC if I get killed, but I will if I get glitched goddamnit.

the part im talking about is being teleported to and killed. or seeing the gun fire infront of me but no one standing behind it. (invisible player). plus i have had the unfortunate mishap of being in a server when everyone but 1 person died at the same time. pretty sure those aren't sniper rounds from 800+ meters.

I think the OP is lying about seeing hackers as often as he is.

I've played hours upon hours in game (maybe 70 total game hours over two weeks), server hopping like a fool and never ran into a single hacker...

Try playing on some different servers - I've only been killed by a hacker once, it's not a big deal really. Also, if you see a disproportionate amount of people dying on the server, that could mean there's a hacker and your best bet is to go to a different sever.

I agree. Been playing for probably 2-3 weeks+ now and have not seen one hacker. Which I'm not saying they don't exist because its obvious they do, I've seen my share of youtube dayz lol.

But i'de like to know which servers to avoid lol. Ide say players as well, but it takes less time to change your name than to change to a different server lol..

Had 2 encounters with hackers so far that I'm 100% sure is hacking. Had a few that I suspect to be hacking, but could have been a lucky hit.

First encounter was a chopper flying around and crashing outside Berenzino, one of my friends went down to check the crashsite and shortly after we heard a second chopper and then 2 shots from a AS50. This was at nighttime and it was pitch black. The 2 shots killed a zombie and my friend and the shots came directly after eachother. The second chopper hover ove us and then second guy from our team who is hiding in a bush a bit from the crashsite so nowehere near the light gets oneshotted by the as50 guy. Chopper lands, the as50 sniper runs to the chopper as the pilot of the first is outside doing something and 2 choppers takes off from the same position. One of them crashes and shortly after a new as50 shot and the third guy who was hiding with a ghillie suit a long way away from lights get one shotted. At that point I decided to back off and head to Khelm as I needed food and drinks badly. While there I hear the guys on ventrilo talk about how 2-3 choppers crashes in Elektro and Cherno, and shortly after another chopper comes to Khelm and starts to go in for landing. At this point I logged off as I cba to fight hackers and just loose my gear. 3 minutes after logging off everyone on the server breaks their leg.

Second was while looting a store, had been fighting a guy over and over and died to him a few times in Elektro. All doors in the back of the store closed and after I killed him I went back there to eat and get ready to leave when suddenly I started taking damage. Turning around a guy stands right behind me with a silenced weapon and basically just fills my head with lead. All doors still closed and he somehow managed to sneak up on me in a 5 second timeframe without me hearing it.

Had a few other times that has been suspicious, but could be bad luck that there was a guy ther randomly. Hacking does happen, but isn't as bad as it could be, best way to fight them is to change server or simply log off and do something else.Eventually they will get bored. :P
