Who else LIKES the new update?

I love the update. I really can't complain about anything. Is the game running a lot smoother for people as well? It is for me!
  2. Here's my response to your "bad" list: 1. Fix the non-broken glass issue, otherwise this is realistic. 2. Realistic 3. Realistic 4. Boohoo 5. Are trees impenetrable fortresses? 6. Realistic 7. LOVE IT! 8. Because real life has peripheral dots to help you while driving?

    Jumping

Personally, I would like jumping added, but it's probably because I've been playing Counter-Strike for 10+ years. But really, I think if you made the animation realistically slow and make sure that you can't spam jump as soon as you land, there will be no bunny hopping. Like, after you jump, add a 1-2 second delay before you can jump again.
  4. I personally took the L85 and plan to use it, my friend took the AS50 and I know he's gonna have a fit when I tell him I think he should drop it. I know I won't touch the damned thing. I was playing around with the L85 last night, it's definitely a weird scope but I'm learning it. Thanks guys!
  5. Thanks mate. Any complications using them? I believe I read that it's okay as long as you don't hack them in yourself.
  6. So, after meticulously playing this game as a survival mod for 2 months, with my final character lasting over a month (25 bandit + 2000 zeds kills) with tents set up all over Chernarus and an extensive arsenal of weapons; my buddy and I decided to take the bandit route ourselves. I dunno, the game got kinda boring. We had to quickly adjust to this style of gameplay, resulting in us dying many times and losing a huge stockpile of our inventory. No biggie, we're having fun hanging out on the coast, which feels weird but new and exciting. Two days ago, both of us are in a tower in Elektro sniping kids trying to loot the two firehouses, when someone starts barreling towards us chucking nades every 10 seconds or so. About 30 nades later, we've both fallen victim to this script kiddie. Whatever, shut it off for the night and pick up tomorrow. The next day we spawn and pick a meeting place, Komarovo. By the time each of us got there, we had gotten a few of our essential items stocked up and we were preparing to head a bit north to get some better weaponry. Almost at the exact moment we met up and made our plans, I hear the unmistakable rumble of a vehicle coming from the distance. Both of us spot it coming from the east and heading straight down the main road towards Koma. Immediately we both setup with our guns pointed at the target. We wait as the driver barrels down the road like a wrecking ball. We setup up right past a bunch of rubble in the road, hoping this slows him down so we can get a good shot on our target. The driver responds to our gunfire by jumping out of the truck and gets swarmed by zeds. I run around the side of a building and finish him off with a few 1866 slugs to the face. We run around like idiots for 10 minutes trying to lure the plethora of zeds aroused by the assault, but finally we're able to loot his body, take his coyote pack and storm off with the offroad truck. We haul ass into the woods for a few minutes and decide to stop and check out the inventory... and my god did we hit the jackpot. Not only is the truck in perfect condition, but it has all the spare parts to keep it running, 12 full jerry cans, an as50, an l85a2, 2 NVG's, 2 Rangefinders, 2 GPS, and much more. Pretty lucky find and I can't believe we took him out with my 1866 and my buddy's m16a2 against his aresnal. After playing with our new toys, we find that both the as50 and the l85a2 not only have NV, but also thermal scopes. I've never seen the thermal scopes before and my first instinct is that they are hacked in. Am I right? Will I have any complications using these guns? Thanks for any help!

    Heli Crash Sites

    Thanks, that's really helpful :)

    Hacking or lag?

OP, never heard of this before... very odd. This happened to me on the NWA one time. Funny party was that the guy had no NVG, but I did. So he was literally looking in every direction while I'm just unloading 3 DMR mags on his head. In the middle of me unloading the clips, he types "owwwwwwwww" in game lol

    Heli Crash Sites

I do find a FN FAL at a lot of crash sites, but I find DMR's at almost every single one. In the last 2 weeks I have found 2 AS50's, 2 M249's, an M14 AIM, an L85A2 AWS and a slew of M4's and M16's HAHAHAHA, this is the exact reason I never pick up FN FAL's anymore.

    Heli Crash Sites

I typically find them in the area surround Stary/NWAF or by Gorka/Berezino. Actually, my friend always seems to spot them, which is odd because I have NV and he doesn't and we typically play in night servers. I thought I read somewhere that there were 2 heli crash sites per server. If there are that many, it makes more sense why I'm running into them so much. I've been travelling NW to NE and down to the South almost every time I login.
  11. I've been playing DayZ for about 2 months now and I've gotten quite accustom to it's nuances and tricks, but this is just baffling me. For the first month and a half I found 1 helicopter crash site. Now, in the past 2 weeks, every single time I play I end up finding at least one heli crash site. Yesterday, we found 2 crash sites within 200 meters of each other and the same thing happened twice last week. I've been playing on multiple different servers and having the same thing happen. I'm not complaining, my inventory really appreciates it. I'm just wondering if others are having the same luck? I swear I've found 10 DMR's in the process as well lol.
  12. Tell me where you are exactly, in what server and most importantly what kind of gear you have on you :P Seriously though, someone may help you if you ask on the forums. I would if I wasn't at work.

how my 32 day char died.

I've done this, but I've also randomly warped over the edge of a building. I had roughly 600 kills on that one :/

Me and my group helped a player

I help people regularly. I base whether I help, hide or shoot on their actions. If I see someone running around like a retard, with no weapon or they look lost, I typically communicate with them and let them know to keep their weapon pointed away and if they need help I would be willing. Large groups I typically hide or run. I shoot if I see someone sniping anywhere around me or if they run up on me. My gut has served me well so far. Last person I helped was bleeding out in a building in Berezino. We bandaged him, gave him a blood transfusion and then a shot of epinephrine. We ran off afterwards yelling, "We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz" while shooting our guns off pulling every zombie in a mile radius chasing after us and then massacred them north of the town. I hope it was a good show for him.

    Tent Help

Thank you for the info, really appreciate it. This more along the lines of my train of thought. I've not had many issues with tents over the course of my play. I have had them glitch and dissapear, but I never cared much until I actually had a great arsenal that fell victim to the buggy nature of this mod. Oh well, at least I know I have some work to do when I get back in game this evening :)
