platinums99 1 Posted July 30, 2012 An alarm you could set up at your tent in the wilderness. It would sound on the radio if someone/thing was breaking an infra red light/sensor. Useful to know if theres someone in your camp when you come back to drop a load off, or at least know its been pilfered,so when you run back there after dying to find it empty you wont face a long haul back to a town empty handed.alarm you better be server with a light field not a trip wire, as that only goes off once. perhaps different types of sensors. Lazers!?
ThatGuyCalledReptile 314 Posted July 30, 2012 Hide your tent better. And there will be no need.
OrLoK 16185 Posted July 30, 2012 Hello there,Interesting stuff. As I play IF:L1944 (which uses the same engine as DAYZ) and we have tripwire triggered mines I can see where you are going with this.ieA wire tied to a tin can (need items: wood/string/tincan) as a simple "clanker" alarmLasers triggering a radio signal (lasers are already in game) and can be bypassed avoided by using NVGsTripwire and grenade (improvised claymore)Shotgun cartridge and box and nail, for an improvised "bird scarer" warning system / improvised mine.Hiding a tend better is all well and good, but these could bring another level of strategy to the game. Imagine rigging up alarms/mines in regular "sniper" spots.Would make exploring for loot far more scary. There has to be a way to defeat them though (wirecutters/toolkit) otherwise they'd be exploited as are the barbed wire fences.Any other ideas?RgdsLoK
