No bleed out limit? What?

Recommended Posts

Why is there no bleed out limit? I spawned in, got hit by a zombie outa no where, started bleeding (why do you ALWAYS bleed when you're hit by a zombie the first time?) Than ran looking in every building looking for a bandage, NONE. I went from 12000, (i even ate 5 cooked meats, so it's more of 15000) down to 0? This is quite unimpressive.

What do you mean? If you bleed, you'll bleed out unless you do something about it.

If you're lucky, it sometimes stops.

Don't expect it to happen though, I once went from 12 k to 3 k, ate enough cooked meat to go back to 12 k and bled out to 0.

Better have some bandages! I agree it's quite crappy though.

And yeah I noticed that they always make you bleed when they hit you for the first time.

Nothing surprising though, after all these guys can punch you so hard in the face that it'll break both your legs or even make you fall inconscious by scratching your back. All that after running through barbed wire at 50 mph and zig zagging. These guys are pretty badass.

I think he means why don't wounds coagulate.

Oh, right. Maybe because they're to severe?

Anywho, always carry bandages, they aren't hard to find.

Hey man let someone hit you with a katana sword or something and see if you stop bleeding without putting pressure on it.

I had some bandages and tried to put them in my czech pack, but it was full and they vanished :(

Oh shit, are you telling me that zombies use katanas in end game? D:!!

Zombies only use their fists and their nails. Maybe their mouths I can't tell.

Anyway these 3 things would hardly make you bleed to death. At least not in 0,5 second spent next to you.

It's a game, i don't think you have 12 liter blood in your body either.

There should be different kinds of wounds. Lesser should stop bleeding after some time on their own and severe ones shouldn't.

Humans do have quite large arteries that are easily severed, so the bleeding thingy kinda makes sense to me.

I think as a "animal" going for the kill, the infected aim for the throat and our necks house some really heavy duty arteries.

It's a simulator though, it's meant to be realistic. So realism is the main focus. Rocket said that sometimes if the experience required it he'd go for authenticity rather than realism, bleeding out entirely after a zombie punched you in the shoulder doesn't exactly feel realistic nor authentic.

I guess it'll change in later patches. As of today though, you can't deny it's pretty retarded.

It's an alpha, I'm quite sure they won't ''fix'' it until it's a standalone game. As of now, I don't have any problems with it, there are alot of other things they should focus on fixing right now.

Just carry a couple of bandages, not that hard.

always have at least 4 bandages...it is half of your sidearm ammo slots, and they're easy to find so if you use one, pick up another. great tactic.

Always have at least two ready to use bandages and then three more in the backpack just in case.

In Day Z there is no such thing as to many meds.

Might think it's a wasted slot but breaking your legs or bleeding out with no morphine or bandages makes that extra mag of ammo look a lot more stupid to have.

I'm going to assume you were not a fresh spawn since you had cooked meat.. why didn't you have extra bandages though? It's good to always have at least two on you at all times.

Full of what? Once I stopped picking up everything I found I ended up with plenty of space to add an extra primary to my pack. You also never need to carry 8 secondary mags, ever.

A couple cans of soda or water bottles.

A few cans of food until you find a knife/matches/hatchet.

At least 2 bandages at all times.

Ammo for your primary(or for both your primaries). You really don't need more than two mags each since you'll rarely need to shoot that much if ever.

A couple morphine and a single bloodbag if you play with buddies.

And maybe a few slots used for random stuff like glass bottles to throw at players to scare them.

I stopped carrying tons of crap after I realized I was hurting noobs and only bringing gear and supplies to bandits in the north.
