Solid choice really. The usefulness of any gun in this game is solely based on ammo availability. The Winchester has tons of easily found ammo available. If you die to an AS50 guess what he wasted a bullet and you just lost a Winchester lol.

our group use winchesters all the time for raids - great vs zombies, quiet to players, when you die, you lose a common weapon.

It's a good gun. My tastes are a bit more exotic, but I would be lying if I didn't say that I find it to be an excellent general use weapon.
