its the small things that give you away

so i had just logged in. i was in an obscure part of the map in the middle of nowhere, south of Gvozdno as it happened. i had joined quite a low populated server with only about 15 people on it. i was walking less than 2 minutes when i see a boar slain and gutted on the floor. now on full alert i begin scouting the area and decide to check out a deer stand i know is close by. standing on the edge of the forest i get the old binoculars out. what i see is a survivor not near the deer stand but in the open faffing about with a few zeds near a shed. hes well armed with an m16 and is taking the zeds on with it, god knows what he was trying to do. i can see that he is bleeding and stops and starts bandaging after killing the last zed. now is my chance! i raise my m14...it was the first time i was going to use this weapon and i was a good 150-200m away from him so had no idea how this was going to pan out. i fire 2 shots. he keels over face first into the dirt. looting his body a few minutes later i find he has the m16 with underslung grenade launcher with about 7 mags for it a silenced m9 with 5 mags and tons of food and water etc. obviously this guy had been playing for quite a while and it was rather a cruel way for him to meet his end. i take what i need (never had a silenced m9 before so that was nice!, didnt take the m16 as had a bizden in back pack and prefer to keep a low profile) i hide the bodies and the boar! and carry on my endless journey :)

moral of this story.....the smallest thing can give your position away and let you down! if he had hidden that boar after gutting it i would of never of been alerted to his presence and he would (probably) still be alive. i would of carried on my merry way not realising there was another survivor in this lonesome part of the map. cover your tracks or risk the wrath of a swift and punishing bullet.

It must have been bugged because normally once the last steak has been taken the body will immediately sink into the ground. Completely agree about the small things though.

Totally agree. Dropped excess loot out of place, dead animals, dead zombies... Already spawned zombies.... Loot dropped in spawn points that it doesn't match.

Those are all things to watch out for.

there was 1 raw meat left on it thats why it hadnt vanished :P

150-200 meters = easy kill

i didnt say it wasnt going to be easy ;) but when u havnt used a weapon before u enter a realm of the unknown :D
