Maarten (DayZ) 0 Posted July 28, 2012 Who tought it was a good idea to remove the respawn button?When i play with friends and when they are all in cherno i dont want to spawn on the other side of the mapand not be able to respawn to a location closer to them.Most of the spawnpoints suck anyway, way to many spawns are near shitty towns with nothing in them.so please put that damn button back in the game. Nalestom 116 Posted July 28, 2012 Rocket has stated that he's working on a way for players to be able to choose where they want to spawn (to an extent - you're not going to spawn in the same exact spot every single time.)For example, if I want to spawn at Otmel, and I die, and I choose to spawn at Otmel again, I'm not going to spawn in the exact same spot. Unless it's glitched, players with fractured bones are able to respawn. That's the only condition where the mod will allow you to manually respawn. 3 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Junkyard 5 Posted July 28, 2012 liek i said on another post about this being able to pick your spawn location after you die would be 100 times better then having to waste 20 mins running to your friends. this is still a game and the idea of a game is to be fun and people want to play with there friends. can you honestly say you would rather have to run 20 mins to meet up with friends when you die over being able to spawn close by and play together right away? if you say yes then you either are lying or you have no friends that wanna play with you anyway. Hell, sometimes when there's only three or four people on, you're tempting fate by deciding to visit either city.Because of that, I've learned very quickly that, if I want to actually survive to see the sun set, spawning near a major city is a terrible idea. Personally, I find that spawning in either Kamenka or Komarovo (or sometimes Balota, if you're lucky and there's nobody visiting the airfield) will give you the highest chance of survival. There's tons of medium and high-value buildings along the road north (including barns and residential buildings - that means Lee Enfields, Winchesters, shotguns, and pistols!) and plenty of supermarkets to fill your toolbelt, belly, and upgrade your backpack. Sure, it might take you an hour or two longer to get as equipped as you would if you visited Cherno or Elektro - but you have a much higher chance of actually finding all of that gear, plus a much higher chance of survival as well as less competition for the gear you find!I honestly don't understand why so many people want to go to Elektro right off the bat. I have seen many players camp thier dead buddies body whilst the player is attempting to respawn as close as possible. syncmaster (DayZ) 63 Posted July 28, 2012 -Spawned in debug for the first time ever, with a broken leg and no gear.-Logged out/in again and respawned on the coast healthy and with all my old gear.-I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think the respawn button was there when I was in debug.That would eliminate every single legit complaint about this change and only leave the big "problem". aaandymaynard 0 Posted July 28, 2012 Either you, or your friend are filthy liars.i do not think so.. i googled abit and came across this thread beacuse i have the same issue as his friend.. i broke my legs before the patch and did not want to play anymore but after i patched the game or w/e the next day and joined the same server again i wanted to respawn because i was far far away from everything and did not want to crawl 20mins to find something that kills me.. but yeah respawn did abd still does not work even though i have a broken leg .. kinda a pity i am still waiting to either starve or die due to bloodloss... soooo yep filthy liars , good one.. more like a glitch Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
