Improving gaming experience

Yo,

As a old flashpoint veteran I really like the game. I am servive conceptor, and I want to give my contribution here.

Player loot and deaths:

Its good as it is, but there really should be some kind of softening to this in form of misc items. You should not losse all of it when u die.

In player death u should lose following:

-back bag

-weapons

-night vision and binoculars

But you should have 40% chance to be able to keep each of following:

-map

-compass

-clock

-matches

-knife

You should not be able to loot theitems from players which they can keep.

Squads (guild) should be able to have its own spawn location.

-on shore there should be conquarable camps, which will give spawn location to everyone in same squad.xml. There should be limited amount of the spawn bases per server. Camps have a flag with squad logo. Player can take spawn camp by holdiing it for 2 minutes. When contested, there is a message, that squad x is contesting sqyad Ys start camp.

Why?

When you're dead, you're dead. You don't reincarnate with your worldly possessions, unless you're some sort of ancient Pharoah.

^ agreed

it's the one thing that sets this game apart from others and makes it so friggin intense when playing. That awesome stuff you have been spending hours scavenging? YOU COULD LOSE IT ALL in a split second.

Not a chance, this is a realism mod (I stress that greatly) but that's what makes this game fun, and the value of life so high.

I like what your saying man, and great suggestions but those would inpose that death is not final... which is the pain part of this game is that you die... everything is gone.

I think a FPS/MMO is what your suggestions are geared towards and would love to see that perhaps in a different mod/game though.

All these suggestions get the same answer from me, there is much more important things to do right now than sacrificing precious time to things like these. The spawn system right now is good and spawning in camp would just ruin the game since everyone would just go on killing spree without the fear of death since u just spawn in, get all geared up again and off you go. Why in earth should there be that forced camp stuff like that when u can go for a search for camps and raid them with ur group.

This is just silly :D Why play DayZ if you plan to turn it into Hello Kitty Online?

It's not meant to be nice and kind and fluffy, it's meant to be brutal and cause plenty of rage moments! ;)

Admittedly I'd rather rage at other players or bad luck and not a bug that makes my CCO vanish when I misclick and pick up a gun off the ground..

Amen brother. Death in this game is as it should be; youre dead. That character you were is now a corpse in a field. You want your stuff? Dont die.

I like playing games together with my friends. There is no question wether its realistic mode or not. Games are fun when they are played together. I think everyone aggrees on this. And if game chooses a way which punishes players, who want to play together by creating the most stupid systems, then its obiviously broken.

Now look... there is not even currently a system to prevent spawning near friends. All it just does is gives you an annoying system to reach your goal...

Look at the current spawn system...

1. it does not prevent spawning close near your friends

2. its a futile stress for character server if ppl have to keep spamming respawn button to spawn near friends

Game: the game itself is designed to be played with friends - is it not?

So the question is - why would you give unneccesary obstacles spawning near friends? Obstacles that are not even part of gameplay? (keep spamming respawn)

And if you speak about realism - tell me in which house does it spawn weapons and items from thin air? Tell me which virus makes people vegetables and makes them run with speed of a horse? Tell me in which realism you could not know your location, but you could magically chat with every surviver in the world with a chatclient. It is stupid to speak about realism in an environment like this. It is just another game, which is implemented in war simulator environment.

Making it possible to respawn same location can be "realistic" if thats, if that is what you want to know. I mean - if me and my friend both survive armageddon, we dont spawn billion miles away from each other - no we live close by. And we definately will have bigger chance "spawning" close to eachother than having a chatclient to tell our position to spawn "respawn" over and over again to spawn in same location.

Realism comments debunked. You want more?

And comon guys - do not exagerrate if I say that you should have 40% chance spawning with following misc items: clock, compass, map... I did not speak about foods, I did not speak about weapons etc...

(this means that if you had only one of mentioned items in your inventory, you will spawn empty pockets with 60% chance)...

It's really not that hard to find a map, compass, and a watch when you spawn. I just spawned near Cherno and ran into a few buildings and got everything in one room

No.

You should absolutely fear death. Nothing that makes death easier to take should be added. Don't like spawning away from friends? Easy, don't die. Don't want to lose your stuff? Don't die.

And losing everything else but a compass is not making you ABSOLUTELY fearing death? xD

The gear you propose having a chance at keeping is some of the most sought after gear in the game. So losing it drives home what makes this game better than most. The chance at keeping anything you found would lessen the impact of death.

I do wish that there was an easier way for friends to join a game together, but it would just break too many other aspects of how the game works. If I had to lose the game's ability to remember my last location to gain friend spawns, then I would not want that at all.
