M4A1 Holo Camo VS M4A1 Holo

If we found an M4A1 holo without the camo in a hacker's vehicle, can it still be used? It's the same as the M4A1 Holo with the camo (which is legit), except it is unpainted. Wondering where devs stand on found hacked weapons that are the same as normal weapons sans cosmetic differences.

It may be hacked in, but if the only difference is one is painted and one isn't then I can't see it being worth even hacking in. I'd use it at your own risk, you can still get banned if it's hacked in.

Which is what I'm asking about. I don't personally care, but I like being a unique snowflake.

Is that on UK9? That looks like the EXACT location I found a tractor in (along with a bike which I stole) that was parked right next to my army truck :P mine was up the hill so you couldnt see it from the tractor but you could see the tractor from my truck, which was around 70 meters away :P

Still, i know its a silly thing to say but I took a screenshot and it looks identical to the location, right top right. Maybe it's "off the map" at least it is on the internet map, just I think its in the game map.

Hmm! it has to be the same one, I didn't notice taht but the one I found had 7 in it also. It's by the ravine/river/fjord or whatever it;s called. Guess the OP will state is isn't as he don't want people going there :P but I can tell by the image, or I'm 99% sure it is.

I am curious to what all the names are in the bottom right corner, is it actually possible to group in the game?!

Edit: On the matter at hand, where do the rules stand on found, hacked weapons, that only change the cosmetics of a weapon already used by DayZ?

Exactly, it's a collectors thing. My group has only come across 2 or 3.

I know, what I'm asking is if I should dispose of it, or if (since it's the same weapon sans skin) it could be used. Like I said, I'm a snowflake.

You can't get banned for picking up scripted in weapons. Admins of servers might if they don't want you using them but you can't get global banned,

Script them in however and you can face the consequences of a Global Ban.

Most of the community will probably frown on you for using them but no harm will come to you... It's up to you if you keep it and use it or discard of it.

If you find gear that is obviously hacked in you should destroy it. This is regardless of whether it is equivalent, or inferior to legitimate weaponry.

With or without camo barely makes a difference. Somehow I doubt the admins would be able to differentiate.
