Officially lost hope.

Recommended Posts

Quoted from the 1.7.2.4 post from toby, " I know you're saying battleye is doing better than most other anti-cheats, but it honestly is not gonna be sufficient enough for DayZ as a mod." All hope gone that they will do anything to stop scripters, too easy to bypass battleeye.

What is it? What's wrong? I can't get it.

His point is, since there isn't any effective way to prevent scripting and cheating, there's little motivation to continue playing the mod, which I find completely understandable.

How you people fail to understand what he meant only leaves me with saying;

2/10 on your troll attempts.

I challange you to find a game where someone isn't hacking / scripting . With that mindset you might as-well say fuck all to PC gaming

Toby from the office ?

If Toby, Hitler and Bin Laden were in a room and I only had 2 bullets I would shoot Toby twice.

You wont find a server that is 100% safe from hackers. That's impossible.

If BattleEye doesn't catch everyone, it's up to the server admins to look through the logs and find out who was scripting and ban them.

As long as DayZ servers are by Clans hackers can't be stopped

You can try as hard as possible, but admin won't look all day after hackers - and i can understand they didn't get server for that purpose

To abolish most hackers you'll have to hire people specifically looking after them - with the current model impossible.

Good try, but this attempt only nets you 1/10.

Try to be more constructive next time.

And the mod has a long way to go in combating cheats in it's current state. Yes there are cheaters in most games, but there are also hired people that work on new ways to detect and ban cheaters in most games. DayZ isn't there yet at all, and relying on admins on local servers to police the cheating 24/7 and keep the game clean through banlists isn't very reliable. Especially not considering how easy you can server hop.

Spawn in items you need on a random server you don't care about, then switch to a completely different server and use your new gadgets there. Easy as cake.

Noone enjoys a game that is riddled with cheaters, hence why quite a few people, myself included, have decided to put the game aside until it gets further in development. Afterall, there's plenty of games comming out this autumn that will keep people, me at least, entertained well into next year. Then it might be time to have a look at whether or not DayZ is less prone to cheaters and in a state that makes it worth playing again.
