Survival Timer

Recommended Posts

Just a small suggestion... Since this game is basically about surviving for as long as possible, why not put a timer in it showing how long you have been alive? This could either be on seperate watch you could look at (like a digital watch just showing the elapsed time), or after death it would be shown on the death screen.

My vote would be for on a watch or something. Being on the screen would just take up more space, and it is not "primary" info type of thing like blood or food is.

Post if you like it, and where you would like it to be able to be looked at. Thanks

Put it in the debug monitor. It's small and isn't that hard to add to something that already exists.

I didn't even think of that, that'd be the perfect place for it.

A nice and simple idea that doesn't change the game mechanics, doesn't change the look, the feel or the flavour of the game.

I love it :D

Replace the 'murder' and 'bandit killed' figures with the survival timer.

The number of player kills being tracked acts like a scorecard (and an incentive that killing is all that matters), ditch that and if players want to track their kills then they can have a post it note and a pen by their keyboard.

That actually is a good idea. It only promotes people killing. If they want to let you know that you killed a bandit, it should say on the bottom left: (Bandit) Jack was killed

this is one of those things I've always wanted but never thought to suggest it.

I am also for replacing the murder/bandit counters with this timer. Make it so the people who survive the longest have their names on the leader boards and people will care more about not dying again.

Um... when you log in to a server and in the lower right when it says where you are, doesn't the bottom line say how long your character's been alive? Or have I just been tripping balls for the 3 seconds it's up and seeing shit?

Leaderboards for it would also be pretty cool. Since you can't just sit in one place forever and not do anything (have to eat) you will have to at least move and scavenge putting you in risk of dieing.

I don't think so?
