One of the most startling/shocking moments of my DayZ career

Recommended Posts

Seriously? You alt+f4'd?

Do us all a favor and stop playing.

Personally I think leaving the server to avoid a conflict that wouldn't exist in a real life situation is fine. I mean, you can't quit in real life to be safe, but you also can't magically appear behind someone into an awkward situation where neither party deserves to die.

This automatic hate towards anything ALT+F4 is so sad, yes in the middle of a fire fight or in open play it's just cheap but against hackers and situations that shouldn't have happened to due unrealistic circumstances, and where it benefits both parties involved. who cares?

Log in near Petrovka, immediately see movement out of the corner of my eye, a couple of seconds later realize it's a tractor. The driver must have noticed me so he starts

speeding towards me, I shit my pants and unload half an m14 clip into the glass cabin, he falls out..

Have a similar story:

Was clearing all of berezino on an completely empty server (1 player including myself). Then some dude (i assume server hopper) spawned right in front of me just when i got to the military tents. killed him, took his NVGs :D

what were the chances

Try logging onto a server with one person on in northwest airfield, and being killed by a guy before my game even loaded -.-

And what's your excuse, to log in on the northwest airfield, on a server with only one player?

Hey, he could be like me with crap internet. My server just so happened to have 4 players, but it was one of the only servers that had a ping lower than like 500 (that didn't kick me for high ping)

Don't stress about it mate. No need to justify :)

You can log onto any server you want. 4 player, 50 players, -10 players. It's all good.

The guy just logged in man, would you prefer he shoot you in the back if it was you? Really man, you have to login to play, and it is completely unfair to the guy you log in behind, he might be the best and most careful player in all of Day Z, and YOU cheated by logging in behind him and killing him. I think that aborting is the honorable thing to do in this scenario, better than killing another player who was in all probability being very careful and playing just as he should. I also think that logging off in loot spots is kind of a bad idea and also borders on exploitation, but sometimes you do not get to choose. Servers drop players at random, power goes out etc. Thats the problem with "artificial persistence" (with other such fun side effects as server hopping, combat disconnects etc.) The guy deserves honorable recognition for not being a tool.

The most insane thing thats happened to me in day z happened just now, I ran into someone, we both screamed friendly as we were both on about 4000 blood, we started chilling around and talking, I found an AK, and told him to come over and take it, then he grabbed it and shot me, laughing manically as he swept in to loot and plunder. Seriously?

The crazy thing is, these types of things happen all the time, and you don't even have to be in a city or hot spot.... I've so many stories, mainly where I die, because the only people on the server are my friends and myself, and I walk right into that one poor soul who decided to either server hop or log in for the day.

In a pub in Cherno, nighttime. Only friends on the server at last check (maybe a minute and a half prior). I bolt up the stairs, turn a corner, get hit, spray back. You Are Dead.

Never let your guard down. NEVER. The moment you think you're safe in DayZ is the moment someone is going to take you out.

This never happens to me on connect.... Because I log out in random places and I think logging out in high traffic areas is foolish.

I logged into CA 11 (or was it 10), it was pitch black and had about 12 people playing. I'm at solichiny on the road. I almost get run over by a ural about 6 seconds after I spawn in.

I once logged in inside one of the rooms in the schoolhouse in elektro. I spawned in the corner right behind some guy. He turns around and starts shooting me with his pistol, but he isn't quick enough to kill me before I am able to "axe" him a question. He had an L85 with 13 mags, only time I've ever had that gun.

Once died on an 8 person server when I drove a tractor into the stary on my first multi day life :P

I spawned in the control tower in near Balota and when downstairs to find a guy. It was like a 15 persons server though.

its the best thing about dayz . Log into a server with 5 players at the NW airfield and find 3 guys running in the open firing like trigger happy fools with a tonne of aggro...good times.good loot.

Funny how everyone thinks that we're server hoppers. You find a place to log out, and you log out. When you get back in, there might be someone there, but it doesn't mean you're server hopping.
