Random Skype Contact Requests?

I play with a small group of friends from out of game. Of the group only one of us have the same username for Skype and DayZ. The past day or two he's been getting random contact requests, he says he's received 3 since last night.

The first one last night we were still in-game and had recently run away from a shoot-out in Cherno. We assumed maybe they saw his username and were randomly adding him to find out where we had run to. He accepted (though didn't add to call) and they'd said they'd seen him last week and wanted to talk. It was a lie since we haven't been playing for a week and was just strange, so he blocked the guy.

But then today he logged on to two more contact requests (sent long after we quit playing for the night) both of which are from DayZ players.

It seems strange; is this normal? Adding people to Skype like this? Is it usually "safe" or are they like stream snipers and just trying to get info to kill you?

LMAO but i wouldnt accept anymore requests from anyone and you can play on servers where the tags arent shown btw.

It's not retarded. It's smart. Players on EVE do it to spy on potential threats. It's basically listening in to enemy communications. Rocket has said in one of his forum posts that that is something he'd hope would happen in the community and his mod.
