Bring ACE to DayZ

Recommended Posts

Specifically certain things from ACE such as: Earplugs, better ballistics, wire cutters, blood trails, back blasts, combat deafness, ieds, gas (tear gas or mustard gas), gas masks, weapon overheating, weapon dust and weapon cleaning (weapons being affected by weather), different ammunition types (buckshot, hollowpoints, FMJ's etc.) stamina, weapon resting, white phosphorous, wind deflection... etc.

All these promote realism and make the atmosphere of the game better.

I believe there was a post from ages ago where the creators of ACE said that it would never show up in dayz. Can't remember the reasoning behind that decision though.

Then it can be made again.

I haven't used this mod but my friend has told me so much about it. I totally agree with the OP. Maybe not have all of those things that were listed but definitely Back Blasts, Combat Deafness, Gas (tear gas or mustard gas or a gas that is designed to repel Zeds), Gas Masks, Weapon Overheating, Weapon Cleaning, Stamina and Wind Deflection.

Yes this might be a bit OTT for what Rocket had in mind but I think the game would be better if it had a bit more realism in it.

Well, if we strip away the parts that do not contribute to the survival/danger aspects, at least some features of ACE could be applicable to the game, but it probably should be implemented without cooperation with the original ACE-team so it can be more adapted to the setting of DayZ.

Hmmm, I'd love to see the ballistic of Ace in dayZ. Too bad if the Ace creator stated that it'll never happen

I think the OP means certain aspects of the ACE mod not just a straight DAYZ+ACE=fun

Certain enhancements from ACE could be tremendous for the immersion in Day Z

Enviromental effects - mostly the rain as currently the weird sheets thing is a little ..weird looking.

Dogtags - i think in the case of DayZ bandits could cut ears from people like the true psychopaths they envision themselves as

Fast switching - 'nuff said, the animations for this are so laborious right now

Jump - Running through town, zombies hot on your heels?stop, press V, wait for animation get hit while doing so, legs break and you bleed to death. Irl I would be leaping that mother no doubt.

Overheating (guns) - Makes sense right?

Penetration - I think there is penetration already in DayZ as ive killed zombies through bits of wood with the Mk48, not sure though.

Weapon Jamming - (M16's im looking at you lol)

weapon bipods and resting - Bandits should like this as they sit half a mile away with an M107.

The overheating, jamming and bipods/resting might be a bit to "military" for day Z though, so don't get all crazy over those suggestions.

Wire cutters - yes, everything else - no

You can already cut barbed wire if you have a toolbox.

If I am not mistaken, ACE and DayZ will never share parts. Ever. The creator of ACE doesn't want to share components.

Understandable, which is why some of the features which are deemed as suitable could be re-made from scratch.

As far as i'd love to the the A.C.E. features in DayZ 99.9% of the weapons and vehicles are not necessary for the game. If anyone wants to use that stuff they should play A.C.E., you can even use the six updater to load it ( the little arrows on each side of the upper left corner ). ArmA is more than just DayZ, it's BF1-3, CoD, MW and Rambo 1-4 with A.C.E. mod.
