Lost all my stuff - How could this happen?

Hello there, I just logged on DayZ today, after I finished work. And everything was gone except my gear in my normal inventory.

I were playing ealier today and had all my gear back then. But when i logged on just now, I lost all the gear, my bag and my toolbelt items, and my player were placed at a diffrent spot!

What could have caused this?

And Yes I am aware of it's still in alpha, but that doesn't make me less curious about the moved character..

EDIT:

Last server I played on earlier today was DE100 EU6 (before I went to work)

The last server I logged on where I've lost my gear and the character was moved were on DE 627

(I still have my mags'n stuff)

I've had it happen where i log off of one server (its getting dark) and log on to a different server. I spawn on that new server as if i just started fresh. Usually if I abort and join a 3rd, separate server, I spawn in where I should have, with all of my gear.

Sound like your problem at all?

some servers keep Server-only saves. Probably to prevent server hopping.

I'm currently having the same problem as you. Whenever I log into a server and pick up/consume/drop items it doesn't get saved. The only thing that gets saved is my location. I haven't changed the servers that I'm playing on. Its the same usual 5-7 ones that I pick from. Doing anything on a server and logging back in, either to a different one or the same one, doesn't get saved. Its making playing this game impossible and is becoming very frustrating.

Kinda, although I did not jump to another server, and the server I lost my gear on, is a server that is a HIVE reg. server, and my friends are playing there (Although I usually play on DE100), but I ealier deleted my DayZ files because I made a private server, this might have interfered, tho it sounds unrealistic.

I usually don't have problems with saving or anything when logging out since there is usually more than 30 mins between every time i log.

But it sounds something a like my problem, although your problem sounds way more anoying.

I hope there might be an admin or someone, who can explain what happen, especially with the character being in some town I haven't been in for almost 10 days, about 3.5 km from the last place I logged.

I don't mind dying or losing my gear like this since it's a alpha, but I'm still interrested in what happened.

i have the same problem. but recently it keeps spawning me with the kit i had last week. this isn't a disaster, as i have enough gear to survive, but it is frustrating as i'm trying to move my game along, not just shuffle around hunting sheep with an enfield.

Ok I'm going to try to shed as much light as I can from what I know but I certainly don't know it all.

1. Private hive's will spawn you with different load outs when you FIRST log in, there after you should log into that hive with whatever equip you have accumulated and where you last logged out.

2. Anti Hack Servers - Some servers run scripts that wipe your inventory if it sees a hacked item, some fresh spawn you at the coast with NOTHING like no backpack no bandages NOTHING

3. If you delete you local user files (NEVER do this there is NO reason to) you can lose Hive character data, although your MAIN PUBLIC character SHOULD still be saved on various servers you've recently logged into (not sure how long but within a week for sure maybe even a month (I think it depends on how often the admins wipe the Hive Log but I'm not even sure)

4. The game is buggy and can just do this sometimes unfortunately it can be persistant too so you have to remove everything and reinstall and start again to be safe if it persists for several days...

5. There are likely ways to work around this but without more knowledge or searching I don't know what they are (there is likely a .pbo file locally that you can delete and replace or outright delete and the game or server will recreate it rectifying whatever problem you have) however I have NO idea which file etc etc.

When admins get hacked items that persist they have to back up one of the .pbo files upload a "clean" copy of it, log in and play then re-upload the backed up copy and that removes spawned items like shipwrecks and thunderdome's...

Good luck problems like this suck.
