What? I'm not having the problem any more. I had tried the administrator thing as well but it did not help the problem.

Okay so I believe I have found a fix for this bug that people are having. For the last 2 weeks of play my inventory has basically not been saving (I say basically because there were a FEW times where I actually was able to save an item or two). I have tried at least twenty different server, ones that I was familiar with and ones that I picked completely at random. I tried making a new username. I tried with my brothers steam account and character. I tried a fresh install of ARMA 2 and OA on steam. However, none of this seemed to fix the problem. Just so everyone is clear as to what the problem was like I shall explain. I would log into a server and go about my business. I would pick up items, drop ones I no longer had a use for, eat/drink things, and basically just play the game. Then I would log off, either to switch servers due to night time or just logging off because I had been playing for too long. After 20 minutes to a few hours I would log back on (yes I've tried logging on the same server and I've tried logging on different ones) and my inventory returned to before I had played. I would wait at least 5 minutes before logging off, sometimes the "wait" would be a few hours progress. So this basically made playing the game impossible. Well today I found a fix for it.... but you all may not like it. So I've been meaning to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 for a while now. I needed to play Just Cause 2 but I've been putting it off because re-doing my OS is something I don't enjoy doing. Well today I finally did it. And what do you know my inventory in dayz is ACTUALLY SAVING. I've only tested it a few times but thus far its been working. I'll make sure to keep this threaded updated with everything but at the moment re-installing my OS seemed to have fixed the problem If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. tl dr; I had problems with my inventory saving. I re-installed windows. My inventory is saving fine now.

That doesn't do anything. I've been having this problem for over 2 weeks now. Apparently it is a problem with the hive servers not saving your character properly. Re-installing the game hasn't helped so don't bother wasting time doing that. Hopefully the dev releases a fix for it soon.

I've been having the same problem for over 2 weeks now. At the moment there is no fix for it. Waiting for the dev to hopefully find a way to fix it. Apparently its a problem with the hive server saving your player data. Re-installing the game has proved to not fix it so don't bother. Not much we can do now.

I'm having the same problem. Currently there is no fix available. Hopefully this problem gets sorted out.

In response to Susscon: I purchased the full version of Arma 2 Combined operations on steam about 3-4 weeks ago. I've been playing dayz since then with no problems such as this. Around 2 weeks ago I started experiencing this same problem. I'll do things in game (pick up loot, eat/drink, drop thing) and none of it besides my location and SOMETIMES my hunger/thirst will be saved. I play on a variety of servers and I have tried ones that I wouldn't normally play on. The problem still continues. I do recall someone mentioning having 2 different steam names with 2 different cd keys and playing on the same system. 1 key would have the problem and then 1 wouldnt. This is leading me to believe that this is a problem server wide and not locally. People have also stated that re-installing everything hasn't helped.

I'm having the same problem. It's been going on for about two weeks now. It randomly started happening after I never had a problem with anything. This is a common topic in the last couple of weeks and no one is sure how to fix it. People have tried fresh installs and wipes but apparently this doesn't help. The other thing that is interesting is that someone with two steam accounts has said that one account works fine and the other will still have this problem of not saving inventory. This occurs while playing on the same computer so It's most likely not a local problem. Hopefully someone finds a fix for this cause it makes playing the game pointless.

Yeah I've been having the exact same problems. I've basically given up playing this mod because there's not really a point for me to play. I can't even gather food and drinks to help survive because when I log back in everything is gone. Hopefully this is fixed quickly because I really want to continue playing.

I'm having the same problem as you Taywon. I still haven't found a fix for it yet. You'll do stuff on a server, log out to take a break or switch for night time, and log back in on a different server and your inventory has reset to before you did anything right? It's really frustrating...

I'm having the SAME exact problem as you man. This problem has only been going on for 3-4 days now but its really killing the experience for me. Basically whenever I log in and do stuff (gather new supplies, get a new gun, eat food, drop unwanted items) nothing gets saved. The only thing that seems to stay is the location I was at when I logged. The ONLY way that my inventory seems to save is if I die and respawn. This seems to save the inventory from Respawn till I log out, but when I log back in to do stuff and then log out again.... everything is gone and its back to the way it was before I played. I'm also getting the problem of "Kicked from game" after playing on the server for more than like 5-15 minutes (varies server to server). These problems are new to me and I have only been experiencing them for the last 3-4 days. If anyone knows of any fixes it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently having the same problem as you. Whenever I log into a server and pick up/consume/drop items it doesn't get saved. The only thing that gets saved is my location. I haven't changed the servers that I'm playing on. Its the same usual 5-7 ones that I pick from. Doing anything on a server and logging back in, either to a different one or the same one, doesn't get saved. Its making playing this game impossible and is becoming very frustrating.
