Plebiscite 11 Posted July 26, 2012 So me and my Wookie(ghillie suit) friend were coming from Elektro where we just had to put down a few unruly types with an AKM and a M14-AIM, I have to say it was risky business but it had to be done. When about 1/2 way to Cap Golovo we bump into some survivor running down the shore from some Zeds, I have to admit I was pretty close to just legging him and watching the Zeds have their fun. Instead cooler heads prevailed and I shouted to him over the mic "You running down the tracks come here, i'll shoot the Zeds." He kept running so I said again "Come here, I don't want to accidentally hit you!" I understand the poor fellows distrust with the current DayZ community, so I figured I had to prove it to him. I take the shots with my 1911 and kill the first Zed, and then the second. I figured I'm normally a bandit and all but sometimes it's ok to do the right thing to help out a fellow human. To you sir, I hope you remember my kindness and pass it along to others!See guys its not always like you have to shoot everyone, he had nothing to lose if he wanted to stalk us and kill us.
mikeambrose3 53 Posted July 26, 2012 So you admit you're an active bandit but you help one person? Pff, go back to your corner.

osiriszoran 33 Posted July 26, 2012 earlier tonight me and my buddies(1 with me 2 providing overwatch) were looting stary tents when this guy comes barreling into one of the tents with an axe and goes in without seeing us. One of my overwatch mates say he was a server jumper. We get outside his tent and as he leaves the tent he notices me and my mates AKMs pointed at his face and he immediately goes prone and starts yelling on DC "dont shoot me dont shoot me! im just looking for a gun and i ll leave, im not a PKer!". We made him drop his axe and i escorted him to one of the tents where he promptly D/Ced. lol. Me and my buddy leave the tents area and a few minutes later one of our overwatch guys shoots the same guy as he logged back in and started looting the tents with us gone.lol server jumpers. But hey, we kinda let him live.
Aira 22 Posted July 26, 2012 When i started DayZ i was running from zeds and came across an other survivor, and he shot the zeds for me, i was very happy :)I like it when player help each other with the zeds, especially for those new to the game.It feels much more fun if you see an other player and you think "yay i finally found someone we can group up against those zeds" than "hopefully i never see an other player in my whole gaming experience, i want to play DayZ Singleplayer, leave me alone!" ;)
Plebiscite 11 Posted July 26, 2012 DontSo you admit you're an active bandit but you help one person? Pff, go back to your corner. don't hate, I could have shot this poor fellow. Then I could go shoot many more poor fellows, but I stopped shooting poor fellows, and only those with guns that are a direct threat to me. SO I think I'm becoming more of a survivor now than a bandit.BTW!!! I have never once sniped a starter city and killed unarmed people. The only time I kill people who are defenseless is when they are going to a place that has a gun, and that's because when people have guns they think they're untouchable and shit. Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted July 26, 2012 I do this most days, it is more fun than killing players and just think you are potentially saving killed bandits. Swings and Roundabouts!
Element47 2481 Posted July 26, 2012 i give my beans. he did the right thing and was not afraid to admit it. bandits are people too, right?
osiriszoran 33 Posted July 26, 2012 as a rule i try not to shoot unarmed survivors regardless of location. Unless they have an axe out and barreling towards me.I also snipe the noob cities sometimes but im looking for players with guns. I ignore unarmed and axemen running around cities through my scope. Plebiscite 11 Posted July 26, 2012 So your turning a new leaf? First see how long your kindness lasts before claiming to be the Savior of the Apocolypse.Well I tried fora long time to be friendly until Ii got pissed on too many times. It became easier to shoot on site and rob others, but I don't feel as good about it. My friend on TS said to me when I said I was going to wing this poor guy, he goes "Ehh... I dont know... Ok." after I saved him from his zombies I then realized and said back, "If I had legged him it would have been funny as hell for about 5 minutes." This is true, I would have laughed my ass off for about 5-10 minutes then forgotten about it. Now I kinda feel good that I might have saved someone from a death by Zeds and I might even have made then trust people a little easier.

C4SINO (DayZ) 20 Posted July 26, 2012 Rule of thumb in this game, never trust anyone. I saved two people from zombies, they then killed me once I saved them.I don't ever kill others, I generally try to avoid them, but if I have to kill someone I will...better them than me.We all have dirty hands in this game, and no matter how hard we try to clean them with stories like this, blood always returns
dallas 5195 Posted July 26, 2012 I guess we're even Mr. OP Bandit.A lone runner passed very close by my NVGs tonight, I heard her bandit heartbeat, aimed high on her little person, while she ran down the coastal road. I watched her for 20-30 seconds, before I let her slide out of my sights.Keep your heart cold, but your head colder. :)
