cianstaic@yahoo.co.uk 9 Posted July 26, 2012 'A 225 km2 open world post-soviet state'-DayZ.comYou, my friend, are wrong, when you say it is in Russia. If you read the description you've given, it says 'post-soviet state'. The soviet union split up into many different countries in 1990 I think it was, Russia being one of them. Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia at the time) was in the Soviet Union and was called a 'satellite state'. So basically, this world, was a state of the Soviet Union. Also, if I'm right, Bohemia Interactive are a Czech Republic company, and a lot of the items in DayZ are Czech eg. Czech vest, etc. That is why, I think, this game is based in the Czech Republic.By the way, I'm Irish, and I love making fun of my "Irishness" I guess you could call it, lol :D . Brilliant osirish, gave me a good laugh :P
RJ Macready 3 Posted July 26, 2012 I'm from Northern Ireland and half the stuff you have listed is absolute rubbish. Maybe you should come over and see for yourself, instead of spouting complete and utter rubbish on a public forum whether in jest or not.No beans for the ill-educated.jesus man, im from the north and i found it hilarious especially his references to the north.. well done, some off us north of the border can take a ribbin leek

KWilt 157 Posted July 26, 2012 And therefore can still be called Russia.Georgia is not Russia. Neither is Ukraine. Or Belarus. Nor is Kazakhstan. Or Uzbekistan. Or Estonia. Or Latvia. Or Lithuania. And those are all post-Soviet states, as they were former states of the Soviet Union, which dissolved after the Cold War.Unnecessary explanation for the ignorant aside, nice one OP. Got a chuckle out of me.

Cap'n (DayZ) 1827 Posted July 22, 2013 It's set in South Zagoria, a smaller North Western province of Chernarus. Chernogorsk is not the capital of Chernarus. Novigrad is. But you don't know that because most of you have never play the ArmA 2 campaign. And don't respect what ArmA 2 gave you. And Chernarus is set in Czech Republic, home of Bohemia Interactive. Cheap beer and cheap women!
-Gews- 7443 Posted July 22, 2013 Chernarus was one of those countries. The kind of place that may as well have been officially known as "The Former Soviet Republic of Chernarus". It was so Eastern European, it was almost like it had to reach around the world just to graze the West. And in a sense, that's all it ever did - graze the West. A whisper in the back pages of a second-rate newspaper was about as much as it could ever hope for when it came to mentions in the news. An infection? A pandemic? A civil war? Or was it a revoltion? Who cares. They're always killing other people over there. Must be ethnic cleansing. No, that's the Balkans. Yeah, it's in the Balkans. No it isn't. Wait, where are we talking about again?Chernarus was one of those countries. And all I wanted was to be in one of those countries. This guy has it right. Also this thread is from 2012, ya know. I don't know about you using Limerick as a reference for drug addicts or stereotypes when the more likely choice would be Dublin or even Atlone. If you went on drug related crimes and figures in the last few years.
