Redshift 58 Posted July 25, 2012 Worked fine for me and another buddy of mine, but my second buddy is getting "wrong signature" errors when he tries to get on a server. Can't figure out how to fix it.

jordan2412 60 Posted July 25, 2012 Just re-verify game cache and run again.Where do we do this? I get kicked from any server I try to join after the update
SystemiK 366 Posted July 25, 2012 (edited) Well, I'm a glutton for punishment (and supposedly some sort of an alpha tester). Updating through steam now. I don't normally launch with steam but might as well give it a run and see how it goes.EDIT:Allowed steam to apply the patch. Using Steam I launched Arma 2: Combined Operations (right click Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead in Steam Library). Loaded into a server with no issues. I also launched the game with DayZ Commander as well, same, loaded into server with no issues whatsoever.Verdict: Worked like a charm in my case, whether launching with Steam or with DayZ Commander. happylarry77 24 Posted July 25, 2012 I don't even use steam to run OA and DayZ, I just go straight through Six Updater... But the Steam update still messed with the files. Lots of forum posts about it, I just made it clearer and more noticeable. Just don't risk it.
spankimus 71 Posted July 25, 2012 Definitely broke my DayZ, along with many others. Check the Troubleshooting section.
Anton17 97 Posted July 25, 2012 Welp, since I just made this post in another thread, I might as well repeat it for the ignorance of fools...Okay, lets get this out of the way, shall we...IF YOU'RE PLAYING THROUGH STEAM, THERE IS NO WAY TO AVOID THE UPDATE.If ARMA2 / DayZ is the only game you play through Steam, then you might be able to avoid it for a short while by using Offline Mode now and forever after, but chances are it will eventually bug out and you'll have to go online at some point to straighten it out. If you play other games, clearly this isn't an option, so get over it and just let the inevitable occur and allow the update to proceed smoothly.Still having problems with the update in regards to the base game, DayZ or your relationship status?WAIT FOR IT TO RESOLVE ITSELF - IT DOESN'T TAKE LONG.Are we all better now? Good.
Spartan114 21 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm running fine. Dunno what happened to you though.
sarlac 10 Posted July 25, 2012 Funny, I haven't launched steam since I purchased OA with it. You dont need to run steam to launch arma. Why waste the CPU cycles and ram on steam when you can run the game without it?
st0nedpenguin@st0nedpenguin.org 25 Posted July 25, 2012 It didn't do anything to mine.I get the feeling a lot of people are experiencing shortcut startup issues.
Sumdum 29 Posted July 25, 2012 Wunderbar. I hate the autoupdater sometimes. Along with 10Gb worth of TF2 shit I never wanted, things like this get a little old.

Strogg 23 Posted July 25, 2012 Turn autoupdate off now and go in offline mode. This steam update breaks DayZ. Happening to a lot of people right now. Beware~Luckily my laptop isn't connected to the internet right now. I expect by the time I wake up in the afternoon there will be a patch out already for the six launcher; if not then no biggie. A Bush killed me 189 Posted July 25, 2012 i really wish the dudes that make arma II would just say screw their game and help out dayz. No one played that terrible game any ways.

Maxgor 2314 Posted July 25, 2012 Steam updating didn't bother my game at all. I could tell some were hurting though with how many were getting bad file errors trying to log into the server.

Anton17 97 Posted July 25, 2012 Stopped the update halfway through, and shut down steam. Still managed to break the game. What the fuck do you expect? Jesus christ. When an update happens, IT DELETES THE ALREADY EXISTING FILES AND REPLACES THEM WITH NEW ONES.Stop the update halfway through? You moron. Of course it will break the game! You only have half the required files that it WAS TRYING TO UPDATE WITHOUT YOUR INTERFERENCE.I see your genius logic but IT'S IDIOTIC PARANOID LUNACY THAT SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK.
Sumdum 29 Posted July 25, 2012 then uninstall TF2I did. The translation is that I can't play TF2 unless I want to constantly download a lot of crap. Thanks for the hot tip though.
