Was Minding My Own Business in Cherno When..

Recommended Posts

I was in the northern area of Chernogorsk, minding my own business being new at the game and all.. when a helicopter showed up. It flew over the hospital and landed on the apartment buildings parallel to it. I was WTFing and fighting off 8 zombies with my Lee Enfield, desperately loading another mag when I got shot and went unconcious. A guy with an LMG and a ghillie suit came up to me and bandaged me.. I had 2000 blood. It took me a while to wake up. When I did, he led me up to the helicopter telling me he was here to save me, not kill me (and that i should stop surrendering lol). I got in his helicopter where there were 2 other LMG weilding ghillie suited warriors.

Apparently I passed out in the helicopter, and when we landed we were in the middle of nowhere. Probably in the corner of the map. My ghillie suited saviors led me out of the helicopter and into their "camp". It seemed more like a military base than a camp. There were like 6 vehicles there, including the helicopter and a dirt bike. They also had 2 tents, but most of their gear was stored in the truck they led me to. I was hesitant to take their gear at first because they looked like they worked hard for it, but they insisted. They said they had too much crap and felt like helping some noobs, lol. I didn't take much since I was already fully stocked with medical supplies and food. I took their M4 SD CCO and M9 SD, along with a couple survival tools, they told me to take a ghillie suit so I complied. In their truck they had AT LEAST one of each and every weapon in the game, along with tons of mags and food. At this point I think this is all a ruse and they are all going to shoot me, but they didn't...

After we chatted and were ready to go, full health and full on food and all, they asked me where to take me. I told them to take me outside of Electro so I could go meet my friends. They dropped me off, I said one last thank you and goodbye and hopped out. The chopper disappeared into the distance and that was that...

what. the. fuck. just. happened.

Wow. See that's what DayZ is. Awesomness can happen randomly from crazy players. I've been planning on going back to the coast and helping some fresh players after I get some gear up north at Stary and whatnot.

What just happened is there are good people in this game.

If everyone didn't shoot on sight, People would realize this.

Be thankful to your chopper friends.

I was expecting something like the Gauntlet that some clan made where they make guys fight to the death then the winner can join their clan. Either way, this is awesome. I want to meet these guys,

Alas, some good souls in Day Z that have gear and help others... the undying a-holes in cherno who farm noobs without taking damage is going to kill the game fast.

Yo, I'm not lying. This shit actually happened in US 220-something. Apparently they were doing flyovers of Cherno and Electro just helping noobs. They told me all about how the last guy they rescued tried to shoot them, and how they were bored of looting helicopter crashes and NWAF.. They wanted to help noobs :D

I'm INSANELY lucky I stumbled across them.

Only thing I found in Cherno was a Ghillie Ninja who saved me before a sniper took me out, and when I respawned outside of Cherno, some dude staring at me from inside a construction site with a hatchet.

As far as I know, could be wrong, but choppers were taken out of the game due to instability issues. Not saying you didn't ride in one, but every time I've seen them flying in game it turned out to be hacked.

LMAO....i had some dude running right at me screaming on direct chat to help him...dude had like 15 zombies chasing him. I helped him.....I could have just shot him and laughed. I told him to follow me and stay right behind me. I ran into a farm-storage-house(not a barn) and out the side door. He stayed right behind me. We went around the corner and I dropped...he dropped. I threw a smoke grenade and the area cleared. Afterward dude gave me a much needed map and toolbox...I gave him my glock and some ammo/food and a water bottle and we parted ways.

Where were these people when I was running from zombies through Elektro?

Probably watching you and wondering why you were not running through any of the many enterable buildings around you.

If this is true, that would be pretty fuckin cool. The sad thing is that this is entirely possible with enough organization in a party; have a basecamp where a few people chill and guard everything, while another party of two or three go supply gathering. If someone gets killed, no biggie, they can just respawn, get picked up, and re-equip at base camp.

That's when the delirium from blood loss came into effect.

Wow, wouldnt be the first time a group did a random act of kindness like that, I had a similar situation happen to me about a month or two ago..I was injured near starey sobor and managed to hit the forest and hide from sniper fire. I basically knew I was screwed and didnt have a chance of survival but then I hear a helicopter over head, it touches down and all of the sudden I hear the sniper take a shot at the chopper followed by a chorus of assualt rifles unloading on the snipers position, one of the guys ran into the forest (my guess was he was heading for the tents) when he saw me laying on the ground.

He gave me some morphiene and yelled at me to run for the chopper, first thought was "these guys with rifles are gonna see some guy run at them straight out the forest and unload on him" but said screw it and did what he said. As soon as I burst out the forest they looked at me and then started up the chopper yelling at me to get in, I got in, they took off and we landed on the NE corner of the map where they healed me up, gave me some ammo and left me next to a PBX to make it back to civilization.

Good guys do exist in the apocalypse
