blueskin 5 Posted July 23, 2012 Title says it all really, just wondering who out there uses 3rd person or which type of server you prefer..
[email protected] 36 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I just like to run with 3dp on because I get much better view of my surroundings then. I have never had to use it to peak around corners and such. Edited July 23, 2012 by korppi300
KuyA 3 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I love the 3rd person on but I hate regular difficulty .. Name tags must be off or I will not be playing that server-[sLD] Kuya Edited July 23, 2012 by KuyA
mindtrucks 28 Posted July 23, 2012 3rd person on but always on veteran/expert servers. Preferably without crosshairs. I won't even go into how much nametags ruins the experience..
Herr Robert 28 Posted July 23, 2012 I prefer servers with third person on for the increased situational awareness it provides. It makes me feel more comfortable sniping when I can look around myself to see if anyone is behind me.As for servers with nametags, I never play on them. While it works both ways, I don't want anyone to spot me in my ghillie suit simply because they hover their mouse over the general area I'm at.
mastertesus 7 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I love having it on while exploring, It lets me look at more sceneray while going cross country. Edited July 23, 2012 by mastertesus

Tsyn 215 Posted July 23, 2012 I'm basically forced to use third person.I get so low FPS most of the time that first person is a deathtrap.
wartzilla 182 Posted July 24, 2012 I don't mind third-person being enabled, because the FOV in ArmA II is claustrophobic. The first person view is like looking through a tube. Only with third person view do you actually get something similar to the situational awareness you'd have in real life. It's a shame, but with a game projected on a 2D screen there's not much else to do! Besides someone buying Eyefinity setups for everyone. :D
TheBlackJim 32 Posted July 24, 2012 Yes, I always play in third person veteran servers.
bassist05 69 Posted July 24, 2012 If first person let you see more then the pinhole it does currently then I might play on first person only servers, but for now it's third person or I don't play on the server.

robonator 6 Posted July 24, 2012 Off ofcourse. its a bit like cheating for me because you can see around corners etc, thats just lame. btw to the guys complaining about FoV, double tap minus on numpad to get a higher fov ;D
[email protected] 32 Posted July 24, 2012 I love it, Looks cool if you are all kitted out and crouching across a field in a ghillie :D
[email protected] 23 Posted July 24, 2012 3dp:on ch: off. Nametags off. I like looking at my char, mainly it's because 1st person is so messed up. Third person in this game is more like a 1st person pov anyway.
Josh225 129 Posted July 25, 2012 I play third person simply because i like the field of view i get and the fact that 1st person seems to drop fps for me, and don't lie; peeking around corners is at it's very least a perk.
Yusho 2 Posted July 25, 2012 The field of view is something you can set by the way, check it out here:http://www.moddb.com...te-tweak-threadOr you can get 2 more monitors.Arma supports 3 monitors, that means you can get a much bigger field of view.
iaxx 17 Posted July 25, 2012 I play 3rd person 100% of the time.First Person with running and rolling around gives me a headache.
Ivell 0 Posted July 25, 2012 I use third person view when traveling long distances as the camera shaking gives me a bit of eye strain
Squirreli 14 Posted July 25, 2012 3rd person mode = peeking around walls = annoying as hell. I want a chance to see the person spying on me, no matter how slim.Nametags = partial wallhack = no way I'll play on one of those servers. Right now, without enough different skins, identifying own squad is way too difficult, but nametags are not the answercrosshair = unpreferable but tolerable option
Jean Jacques Serrault 37 Posted July 25, 2012 3rd person off on Expert server.
