    where to loot

If you don't already know there is a map ( http://dayzmap.info/ ) which shows a lot of good loot spots.
  4. I crawled through and unknown town weaving through the undead and found a barn with a ton of slugs for my DB shotgun. I had just gone hunting and had a lot of meat in my backback as well as a compass and hatchet. This might not be much to some but it's the best I've gotten. I walk up the stairs to the second floor of the barn and hear gun fire; I immediately go prone. After a minute I hear someone walk in and go directly under me, I don't dare to move. This whole time my heart is pounding.. do I kill him? Will he kill me? This is a game about survival and I lived the longest and have the best gear I've ever owned. Thoughts racing through my mind... should I ask if he's friendly? What if he says yes and puts a bullet in me anyway? Moments later I hear him walking towards the stairs, I go to the crouched position and wait. I see his head pop up; not even knowing that I was there, that I existed. Memories fly through my head of previous encounters where I lay the victim. I could not let this son of a bitch take me down. I take one shot and hit him square in the back. He lay there unconscious. I walk closer, take aim, and shoot him directly in the head. Loot his body for slugs and bandages and run off into the woods. Never have I felt remorse for killing another player in a video game until now. Last night was my first kill.
  5. Hey guys, I just got this game a couple days ago and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed... ...that I'll be spending most of my nights playing this game instead of going out. This game is ADDICTING! I'm still pretty terrible at it, i rarely find a gun and when I do I usually get hit once and am without a bandage so i eventually die anyway. I have to say though, even if I get frustrated because I just found some good loot and died- I respawn with the mindset of "I'm going to fuck you zombies up once I find that loot again." Instead of a lot of what I read on these forums of people just being upset over death. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to this game, Rocket. I look forward to seeing this game progress.
  6. I have never played arma2 until yesterday, just bought it. Yes- at first it was frustrating not having a way to defend yourself and I found zombies spotting me when I didnt think they should. Maybe I was too loud, I don't know. Then after 2 deaths I decided to take it slower, to avoid that big town full of zombies. Instead I went to the woods and found a hunting nest with a pistol and some ammo. Instead of going guns blazing I was able to sneak out undetected. After running back through the woods I found a small town with a farm house. A quick scouting run let me know that I would be able to successfully loot the area, be it with force or not. I eventually did have to engage a few zombies but I scoped it out enough to determine the best location to do so. I looted the barn after killing them and found a rifle (I forget which). I wasn't able to play much longer after that but if anything within the first 2-3 hours of playing this game it taught me you need a lot of patience to survive. Scope out the area and if the thought even crosses your mind that you wont survive- pass on it. Move on to something else.
