Inception.

Being unarmed is the only thing stopping you people.

I do realize that this game requires you to kill people who are willing to kill you. But think about it. You could do a lot better with friends and teammates. You could scavenge for food, ammo, and other stuff if you learned to not kill anything that moves.

Also, I'd rather team up and kill zombies then have this Day Z game become just another PvP FPS. I could play a thousand other games if that was my desired game.

I usually drive around electro/chernagorsk with my motor bike, giving guns and free rides to people in need. 80% of the time a person with a gun will try to shoot me instantly, in which they end up dead. The other times I give guns to starters, who thank be and move on their way.

People need to do less PvP imo. In real life, are you really going to shoot and gut out every person you see?

It's not a real life simulator. In game, I'm going to shoot people who are a threat which is pretty much anyone running around the big cities or anyone that gets too close.

Loner alert.

Not necessarily. I'm the same way and I play with friends 50% of the time.

Guys like that are more than willing to team up but 90% of the people in game will shoot you in the back the second you turn it to them. So why would he, or anyone, risk that?

That's the problem right there.

and...

Since side chat was removed there's no way to communicate with people before they get in pistol head shot range.

Side chat is really annoying. Direct com works great and as long as you're not using the blinders (First Person view) you can easily see a guy coming while behind cover and talk to him directly without sticking your head out.

Tried to help an unarmed once. He had a lot of Z's after him. I only had a hatchet, and hacked away at them, one by one.

We talked a little, but he didn't hear, so he came closer.

I was busy hacking away at Z, so the conversation went like this:

Me: Dude...

Dude: Yes? *moving closer*

Me: I...

Dude: What? *moving closer*

Me: Dude, you...

Dude: What? *Moving closer*

Me: You shouldn't...

Dude: Shouldn't what? *moving closer*

At this point he moves into my line of hacking, gets one in the face and dies instantly.

Me: You shouldn't get in the way, lest you'll die of an axe in your face... Ya moron!

That's another problem. You can't always gauge a players intelligence and skill by talking to them for a minute.. You're just as like to get accidentally shot by them as to see them cross your line of fire.

In all honesty, i probably would, in a world of anarchy it is every man for himself. You carry only what you need and when it comes to someone else, you need to consider that you always have something they need, thus making it either you or them.

It's a brutal and even a fickle approach to it, but sad fact is, if you desire to survive you need to think about yourself and only yourself.

But unlike RealLife , in DayZ they respawn. So "eliminating the threat" only delays the threat until they respawn and gear up.

Who knows, I might have a whole army : )

"You shoot me, I got a whole army of locked on, trained mother-chuckers waiting to bust yo ass!"

Great stuff, love whitest kids u know.

Stay out of the movie theater, we have the next psychopathic mass shooter here.

Aren't you adorable =D. It's funny because i can actually detach reality from video games. You should try it some time <3

But unlike RealLife ™, in DayZ they respawn. So "eliminating the threat" only delays the threat until they respawn and gear up.

You're making an assumption that is false, and that is that i'll still be in the same location when they actually get back.

It's not easy being the good guy in the game (kinda like real life in that sense), but I see a lot of frustration against the pkilling building up all over the forum. It's true that you can't really trust people you meet in the game unless you know them, so I'm hoping there would be a kind of a 'police force' of friendly players who'd take a clear stand against griefing and help other survivors. There are already wasteland medics and trade companies, so how about a group of Regulators, who make their business to seek out snipers and bandits and drive them out?

...and I know it's idealistic and full of holes, but I really want to see people evolve this game to a more complex moral reality than it currently has and I know I'm not alone.

Why should anyone care about anything that happens to you after that sentence?

Like "I was having unprotected, non-consensual sex with an HIV positive hungry grizzly bear. Things did not go well."

Like, okay? What did you expect?

Stop doing stupid things and bad stuff won't happen to you as often.

I'm sorry, I didn't know that going through Elektro was such a bad thing. I almost never die in Elektro and/or Cherno.
