haroldsax 14 Posted July 23, 2012 Add a "Are you sure? You will lose all equipment and progress" prompt to the respawn button. I clicked it on accident (Yup, my bad, not complaining about losing my stuff) and it's REALLY REALLY frustrating that people can lose their stuff based on a misclick./ragerantwhatever
Caviano 287 Posted July 23, 2012 Lol dude happened to me too. unfortunately, it's just one of those retarded things the engine can't work around.

jan_f_w 23 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) Came to accidentaly click it, too, yesterday; my well equipped 16 days old char just died instantly without me having a bit of a chance to react or cancel my mis-click. I am still very angry about this happening! >:( Edited July 23, 2012 by wickedinsane
P5ykoOHD 63 Posted July 23, 2012 Unless you are abusing the "Abort" ... you are not supposed to "missclick" on such a button.I just can't concieve how one can "missclick" the Respawn. It's not like ur watching porn and your "insert person here" comes in on you.

Godparties 7 Posted July 23, 2012 If it's implemented at all, I don't see it being implemented in the mod. More-so in the Stand Alone.

crazyairborne 18 Posted July 23, 2012 happened to a friend last night, lucky for myself, i havent done it yet. and whoever said you can understand how it can happen. Its directly next to disconnect. its fairly simple how one can hit the wrong button while trying to leave a game.
ironman Tetsuo 181 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) There is a warning system built in, you press it once and you learn your lesson. Press it again and it's your own fault. Yes it's close to the disconnect button but you'd only jab at it by accident if you're in a really big hurry or as it's more commonly known as "disconnecting from a firefight like a big ol' pussy"If anything all it needs is renaming to the "I tripped over my own shoe laces and smashed my face on the kerb" button... treshold82 28 Posted July 23, 2012 (edited) I used to laugh about topics like this but I managed to do it by myself too! :DMy 18 days old character lost ghillie, nvg's'n'stuff (body disappeared almost right away) - I was on superlaggy server (5fps or somthin) and I was disconnecting because it was unplayable so when I dragged my mouse pointer over abort I managed to click respawn or something :D That was superhilarious moment (now i'm "mr. respawn" on our team) - least it's fun to find all the stuff again :) Edited July 23, 2012 by Caine

Virfortis 111 Posted July 23, 2012 The only way I can see the respawn button being accidentally hit is if you're quite hurredly trying to click Abort.Otherwise, just use the escape key to leave the menu.
yuri20346 7 Posted July 23, 2012 It happened to me by mistake, sometime when I alt-tab back in the game it clicks, most of the time it shoots my gun but sometime I have it on the pause menu, and I had my mouse over the respawn button once T_T

Hooveh 1 Posted July 23, 2012 I'm pretty sure that this is part of the ArmA II engine. Not the DayZ mod. So the ArmA II Devs would have to push out an update for it.I believe that the menu is slightly too "important" for DayZ to change around. For instance, what if you have the mod installed but want to play some ArmA II? If you change the menu, would that carry over to ArmA II gameplay?I have absolutely no idea, so this is all speculation.Oh, and if any DayZ fanatics try to tell me that ArmA II isn't worth playing on its own, lemme tell ya: Pakistan City Life servers are amazing. enforcer1975 1111 Posted July 23, 2012 Alpha.....It's not part of the mod.You complain in the wrong forum anyway, you have to go to the BIS forums. DayZ is a MOD of ArmA 2. Anything not relating to the mission ( meaning the mission you play on the DayZ servers ) must be addressed to them, not to Rocket.
_Gunslinger_ 46 Posted July 23, 2012 I've done it, while hurriedly trying to turn down the sound effects volume (I couldn't hear my teammates over the sound of a vehicle motor), and since I was driving and we were at risk of being shot at; but being able to hear warnings was also important, and in my haste I clicked respawn, and was ejected out the front of the vehicle.
