Leave messages for other survivors

I think it'd be cool if you could leave messages (voice recorded or written or something) on the ground for other people to find. Like if u got stuck on a roof and knew u were gonna die you could leave a message maybe telling where some items were in the town (or surronding area) or how to not get stuck on a roof and die >_

That would be neat. Find a pen and paper (OR USE YOUR OWN BLOOD) and scribble a note. Probably text-only. It would certainly add to the RP element of the game, especially if you left a cache somewhere or had allies and left notes to meet up.

I wonder, can the engine support this?

This would be great if it were possible. I doubt it would actually be very useful, but I can think of tons of fun opportunities.

It would be even better if we could write on walls like the stuff in the safehouses on L4D. Each server could have its own banter on the walls of Cherno.

But that would obviously be way too complicated to ever do. I can still dream :)

I think it would be awesome for RP and gameplay to have that ability. You can leave notes, short notes, saying "Survivors meet North in Novij Sobor" or "gone to woods near ozerko", or "Will try to hold Zub" and have people follow you.

And this can be both good and bad.

Yes, you are exposing yourself to bandits, but by same token you could have friendlies come by you.

And i dont think it should be done just anywhere, put it in the main cities with main spawn rooms. High traffic area's that is.

This interests me greatly. Just like "journal" idea that's been floating around (you could use the journal while you were alive, and as soon as the "You are dead" screen appeared, you'd be able to write a death note. That'd be great!)

stick an "eat-me" post-it note on the back of a bandit :P

I like the idea- pen and paper item, lets you stick notes to walls, trees, or leave a note in your pack for the bandit who just shot you, letting him know you dipped you wang in your beans... enjoy your wang beans mr bandit!

I'd rather have the journal feature, which is something totally new and original. The note system already been implemented in demon souls, I don't think it would work in DayZ. Just my opinion.

Not sure if someone mentioned this but this is similar to what is possible in Dark Souls.
