Could I possibly have found a hacker's body?

I found a random body on the ground and it had a wookie suit, a sniper with a heat vision scope thingy, lots of ammo, a big backpack, map, NV, etc

I didn't pay attention to the server name or anything, so that's why I'm not posting this on the cheater board, as I really don't have a way of finding out who it was

But yeah, what do you think?

There is a gun with a thermal and zeroing in game L85ASW, but that is only one other items are legit.

At the current stat of the game, I think you're more likely to find a hackers* body than a regular player*

*its next to impossible to be a normal player and not benefit from scripting. The database is corrupted in that its apparently chock full of duplicated rare gear to the point where rare means nothing any more.

Hacking nowadays is ridiculous. I've come across so many damn hackers throughout the past week.

I've seen multiple dead bodies of random ghillies and have even had a small chat with one after I saved a new player, whom he graciously gave his weapon to an ordered us to kill him.

Basiclly... Anyone you meet in a city, town, or otherwise common place (aside from popular sniper hills) with a ghillie suit is usually hacking or has benefited from a hacker.

That L85 might look like a sniper due to the funky scope but it is in fact an assault rifle.

Ya, it's kind of funny. It's like people hear about this mod, think it sounds so cool, the perma and death and all and then quickly realise they can't cope with loss. So now they do every little trick in the book to try and avoid any type of loss. Bunch of sissies!

I dunno the name of the gun. It's scope was all grey though and made zombies turn white so you can see them a lot better. I shot it and it didn't really " feel " like a sniper rifle though, so I guess it's the assault rifle everyone is talking about

In the past month or two playing, I have yet to encounter a hacker. I think they are around but the rumours on the forums make them seem a LOT more prevalent than they really are. (We also avoid Cherno and Elektro, where hackers apparently like to blow up the town, so haven't encountered that either.) It seems like every time someone gets killed by anyone with a better gear setup or rifle they come on here and complain of hackers.

I also have high end gear, NV goggles, and good rifle etc, all WITHOUT the benefit of scripting. It really isn't all that hard.

Our group runs and if we all die, it only takes aobut 2 nights of playing to get re-equipped with high end gear. Just takes patience, care of surroundings and staying the HELL away from the major towns down South and the airfield. If you think everyone with good stuff is scripting, then you really need to change the way you play and not blame hacking. You are doing something wrong.

To the OP. All of that equipment besides the rifle is legit. It may have only taken him a couple days to round it up.

The rifle....may be legit as well. Did you notice if it was a thermal sight or just a NV scope on the rifle? They look similiar if you haven't played a lot of Arma2? The L85 with the thermal is (I believe) currently out of the game. Did you notice the type of rifle?

Sadly though mate, there ARE alot of script hackers that have the generally the same gear as you. Maybe YOU haven't met one, but they are definitely lurking around, some being more generous to other players with them than others.

L85 is still in the game. We found one at the crash site and were killed with one as well. All of that after the update 1.7.2.3.

I guess I just have bad luck then. Cause I ended up in 2 consecutive servers with hackers causing mischief, just last night. Running around doing my thing, suddenly teleported to the shore with all other players so I quit out real quick. I decide to log into another server to see if the gods were with me and didn't save the teleport location, nope, not my night. So I decide to continue playin anyways and head off the shore and what do I see? A burning mountain, Cap Galova was on fire. Coincidence or are hacks perhaps more prevalent than you think?

actually, I watched a video yesterday that had the same gun in it (well, it had the same scope atleast. I didn't really even have enough time before I got killed to actually look at the gun itself)
