Petition to Partition Jerry Cans and Water Bottles.

Recommended Posts

Basically have jerry cans and water bottles fill up in partitions. ie the both fill up in sections.

This would:

For Jerry Cans.

Enable the siphoning of fuel from vehicles, either from your own to transfer to others or for security/sabotage. Or from wrote-off vehicles along the same lines of suggestions for stripping car wrecks for parts.

For Water Bottles.

Enables Gulps, so that water bottles could be shared (in what survival scenario do you see peeps downing entire bottles of water), as well as enabling them to be filled by rain, over time, by partition.

Yea or Meh?

I like the Jerry can idea.

But the waterbottle idea seems a bit unnecessary. I can see the idea of being able to take gulps of ones water bottle, but i don't see why people would use it.. i think people will still just wait until their thirst meter is in deep red before drinking.

Yea probably, but if there is only one or two canteens in a group that are far from a water source, or the approach to the closest one is too risky, then it would be v useful. Like i said before, do you see a cooperative survival scenario in which peeps dont share their water?

aha! Yes, now i see it and now i like it, except for the canteen being able to be filled by rain. The idea is great but it would take so many things to do this. Building something that can collect rain water, sitting there waintg for the canteen to be filled and so on. the idea, as said before, is good but i don't think the alpha is ready yet :)

If DayZ was to have gulps then how would we go about drinking sodas that are in cans? can't exactly stick an open can of soda in your pack and expect it not to spill.

I think the way it is now, which is to give your friend a can of soda or a canteen, have him drink and return the canteen seems pretty reasonable.

Well i guess that is a plausible predicament, you couldnt :) And yes its pretty reasonable for the moment, but tbh i think this is much better, that exchange can only take place at water sources anyway, this makes sense for the sakes of group survival anyways. Not to mention its a similiar mechanic that could be utilized for the Jerry cans.
