All Servers Red X's?

Recommended Posts

Please someone answer this, I can't find a good answer anywhere. The game ran perfectly yesterday with no problems at all, and now today every server has a red X next to the name. Is it just me? Can anyone else play?

The same thing happened to me yesterday! I am yet to try it out this morning.

When you click on a server name, what does your version say?

You probably upgraded to the newest beta patch, which most servers don't support yet.

IIRC you can delete the beta folder within the expansions folder of your arma 2 install and then just put the beta patch you want back on

He'll have to recover the original ArmA2OA.exe. Or else the older beta patches will say he already has a newer version and refuse to patch.

You can't play on most servers because the patches are not backwards compitable. If you have 1.62 (current type) you cannot play on 1.60 (or even 1.61 I believe). If you didn't update and have the last 1.60 beta patch, you can play on most of the servers because those all still use 1.60.

So either wait a few months for 5 servers to get 1.62(or 1.61), or install something else than DayZ and start playing that.

Because its going to be a long-ass time.

Removing the beta folder and restoring the original .exe will revert his beta patch. He can then manually install any non-1.62 patch.

I did so.

Right click your steam shortcut, properties, open file location.

Go to Steamapps, Common, ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, Expansions, Beta.

Unless you've made a backup, go to your steam, right click ArmA 2 OA, Properties, go to the last tab or so and Verify Cache Files.

Me and my friends did. Set up a camp in a 1.62 server.

Now we're sad, since we've downgraded to actually be able to play on more than 15-20 servers and we can't get to our camp.

The problem is Six Launcher...It is updating all it's users to the latest beta patches when all the people who did a manual install still have 94876.

Now there are servers running 94876, 95954, 95099, 95168, 95170...and more...It's a complete f**king mess and makes finding a working server needlessly difficult.

Six Launcher has updated it's users to 95168 today. There are very few servers running it....I am starting to think that the people that make Six launcher are just trolling us at this point...pushing updates we don't want or need.

Thanks Soap and Krt, you guys really helped me out! I'm sure you helped out others in the process. Beans for you! And you just don't give a stranger beans unless they really helped you.
