Bribase 251 Posted July 19, 2012 Of course food in this game will always be unrealistic. But saving yourself from the big sleep by eating an entire cow on the spot? Why don't we delay the health regeneration effect of eating? Making food get you on the road to recovery but not battle ready in an instant. If you lose enough blood to start losing your hearing and eyesight, eating will get your blood level up to a certain point but only over a matter of minutes (5-10 mins should do it). Eating lots of steak at once could either increase the upper limit of your regeneration (up to 12k of course) or have no effect. I favour the latter, needing to help yourself to another steak once the first has finished "Digesting".I like the idea of people getting injured during a raid, eating something to avoid death but not being able to sprint out of there in full health. Blood loss dulls their senses, they have to either take their chances and hobble out of the local area to recover in a safe place, risk further incident by recovering there and then for 5-10mins or relying on a patient friend to lead them out without further harm.It has lots of other interesting effects: "one man army" style PvP players can catch a less than mortal wound in big city but will be next to useless at sniping until they recover, leaving them open to attack with their vision blurred and their hearing dulled. Large groups with no blood packs can have a strong player become their weakest link if he suffers a bad wound, leading to interesting "Leave him, he'll only slow us down" style scenarios.Of course, regeneration from bloodpacks will be instantaneous an thus always preferable to food.
Caviano 287 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm down, would give me time to smoke a bowl in between raids, without my group getting ancy to bounce. I concur with this suggestion.+
giiwedin@live.com 32 Posted July 19, 2012 this is interesting but i know from exp myself that if you don't have any buddy's playing on the server with you it is highly unlikely that anyone will give you a blood transfusion mainly based on paranoia due to everyone shooting on sight lol, i have found myself on my own and yes best thing when alone if finding that cow is smashing down x8 cooked meat, otherwise i would have been shit outta luck a couple times.. wolfstriked 143 Posted July 19, 2012 (edited) I agree with this^^^Its great to have slow health regen in that it allows you to have injured squad mates or players your fighting against etc and kinda forces players to hang low for awhile hunting and eating to gather health.I think a good system is where you eat a steak and then have 1000b regen over the time it takes for the food icon to start blinking. This signals that the body needs food to rebuild again and so the next steak adds in another 1000b slowly added in as the food icon goes red.Canned foods, since they are lower protein/nutrients,only give 300b over this time. What the game needs is to strive to make it so that your constantly doing something. So after an intense fight that you barely survive, you should not be in full health after eating 10 steaks 1 minute later but instead a good few hours later. ;) Edited July 19, 2012 by wolfstriked
Scerun 227 Posted July 19, 2012 Yeah it'd be nice if food regenerated health over a period of time or similar, as opposed to the health-potion-esque kind we have now D:
killashrub324815@gmail.com 18 Posted July 19, 2012 Agreed. Make it +life over X time. But keep blood bags the same.
