Ok. Time to get serious.

OK! Listen. I have a challenge for you guys.

I have $400-500 dollars. I want the cheapest pre-built PC you can find that will run this. Even on lowest settings.

I mean come on. Seriously... I mean every time I ask people give me $1000 rigs. I know not every single player spent 1 grand on this. There must be at least a couple PCs for cheap that can run this on low.

What kind of PC would I be looking for? I'm scared I'll buy one and it will run like crap.

If it's a laptop, just make sure it doesn't have "integrated graphics" for the most part. If it has a Nvidia or ATI card it should work just fine in the $300+ range. I'm playing this game easy peezy at lowest settings on a 2.4Ghz core2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, Win7, and a Nvidia 9500gt.

Any specific PC?

Build your own.

Trust me.

It is no longer difficult or mysterious. If you can read and plug things into other things, you can build a PC.

I recommend going to NewEgg and looking for top selling items with high rating. NewEgg users are often hardware experts making large purchases for companies so the feedback they leave is abundant and incredibly helpful and accurate.

I have been using the site to build PCs for years both for upgrades as well as 3 complete "fresh" builds and they have never let me down.

You need:

CPU

GPU

PSU

RAM

HDD

DVD

motherboard

Can you salvage a case and monitor from another machine? That is always a money saver. If not they sell both of those as well.

The problem with pre-built machines is that they sell you crap you don't need and always skimp on the graphics card. If you do not have any experience yourself, try to read up on it or talk to a friend that can help you build one on your own. 500 dollars will build you an awesome gaming rig (assuming you already have a monitor) but it just will not get you much of a pre-built machine.

Quoted for truth.

Pre-built machines will give you things like nice sound cards that you don't need (because most motherboards have integrated sound that is all you will realisticly need for gaming), but will give you crappy video cards and cheap ram. If you need to get an opperating system Newegg also has OEM systems that will save you some cash at the cost of phone in tech support (who uses this anyway?).

Haven't played my xbox for more than maybe 12 hours total in the last 3 years. Might save money on the system for the games it plays, but when you're paying $60 for Skyrim a year after release while everyone on a computer only pays $30-40 bucks, and that's the same for every game, it adds up after a while. Besides, old multiplayer games die on a xbox too fast to be worth purchasing once they're cheaper.

Did I say that? Why are you implying this? Do you realise CoD is on almost all platforms? Ignorance - we've got it?

An xbox console is just a computer stripped of everything except the essentials of gaming. An experienced nerd can reform it into a great machine for all PC duties.

Maybe you should think about things before typing next time.

It is easier to build a computer than it is to play Arma II and DayZ. You should start learning here.

TigerDirect barebones kit: AMD X6 1045, 4GB RAM, Thermaltake Case /w 450W PSU: $200 after rebate

http://www.tigerdire...L6hiopbbL5qEguw

Radeon 6670: $50

http://slickdeals.ne...ard-gvr777oc1gd

500GB Hard drive: $70

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822152181

CD/DVD drive: $19

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827106289

Windows 7: $100

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16832116986

20" Acer Monitor (optional: if you already have a monitor): $100

http://www.ebay.com/...#ht_2761wt_1063

Logitech keyboard and mouse (optional: you should pick what you want): $24

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16823126097

TOTAL: $563

This should play it well on medium-ish settings. The rig you listed above uses a dual core processor and integrated graphics. It might run it on super low, but it will not be playable. I had a dual core 5000+ (3.1Ghz processor) & a Nvidia 9800GTX+ and it ran, but it ran like crap. It was difficult to play in the cities as I would get about 10-15FPS tops.

Just get the cheapest computer with the best video card you can find. Don't worry about the proccessor. Todays games are way more reliant on gpu than cpu. An i3 or any amd will suite you just fine.
